Posts: 32886 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | We will be on the way up to Sprig Bay Resort Saturday, looking for a relaxing week of superb hospitality from the Spring Bay Crew. I'll be chasing bass, pike, eyes, and gills in an attempt to feed a few folks at the OFM cabin fish fries, and looking for a muskie or two as well. Can't wait....

Posts: 437 | Steve, it will be interesting to see how your panfish outings go. So many of the locals are complaining because they cannot find them because there are no weeds in areas of the lake where they used to be thick. Those Rusty crayfish are insane in that lake right now. My boys had a blast netting them for a crayfish feed one night last weekend.

Try getting a musky on there. There is one fish that has been giving me fits the last two years out there. Won't hit, but sure likes to follow. Its by those two islands. LOL

Posts: 32886 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The welcome and mapping party was great, and near everyone stayed on eating pizza and enjoying a drink or a soda until it was almost dark, thanks to Spring Bay Resort's hospitality. Most hit the water for awhile, and a few fish were moved. I had a tanker try to eat a Weagle on the eight, but the lure was fouled with weeds and when her nose touched those weeds...snap shut went the yap, and off she want. maybe tomorrow...this was the same spot Thomas and TJ boated the big girl last year. Posts: 32886 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | TJ had the big girl we moved last night try to suck in a creeper...and not quite get it done. I added a nice pike to the gill fillets for the fish fry later this week. Lots of action for most of the crew today, several lost on double tens, etc. Attachments ---------------- IMG_5383 [640x480].JPG (90KB - 243 downloads) IMG_5386 [640x480].JPG (52KB - 231 downloads)

Posts: 32886 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Another Muskie in the net for the crew last night, a low 40's. The big Pike up to 40.5 are cruising about too! The dockside by Steve Amundson was extremely informative, and thanks to OFM sponsors and Spring Bay Resort, everyone won a prize. Posts: 32886 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Monday was a tough day to put a muskie in the boat until after dark. I talked to several of the anglers and they moved fish, but no takers. We have some images to post from last night, at least, that's the rumor! Today looks good with a little front moving through. Jerome and TJ already put this one in the net; I'm working at least 3/4 days while here and don't get out until afternoon. We got into the Largemouth yesterday tossing whacky worms at the docks for an hour, that was a blast. Fish fry at the OFM Cabin tonight, bluegills, bass, pike, and venison on the menu! Posts: 32886 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Brad Rollins and Tom Trecker put this 54.25" big girl in the net at moonrise last night on a Swimmin Joe. They report they are working bigger fish, so stand by! Top fish is a 41. Nice work, gents. Brad and Tom have a couple in the net so far. And they added another this morning, 43 and a little. Posts: 32886 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I'd say 40 in camp total participating in the Outing. Low 20's from MuskieFIRST and a couple big groups who signed up for the week and are participating. Steak fry tomorrow...

Posts: 32886 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Last night was good.. Eric Olson and Rick Seeger put this 50.5" pig in the net on a bait they won during the dockside demos. Steve and I talked about using the Llungen Krisco on the Big V, and...it worked! They said there's little chance they would have used the bait if it hadn't been mentioned and offered as a dockside prize last year and this year.
