I tried to enter this information last night but ran into problems. Attached you will find two pictures of my PB muskie caught Saturday August 7, 2011. I caught this fish on a one day fishing trip with my two son's. We spent more time driving than fishing on this trip. The fish was 52.75 " x 25 ". The fish put up a better fight then any of us could have dreamed. We spent over an hour and one half reviving her and making sure she was fully recovered. The best part for me was that I shared the experience with my sons age 26 and 18. I look forward to the day that I am in the boat and each of them beats this fish.

What a head on that muskie....perhaps that is why someone might think it was less than 25 inches girth, as you stated. Congrats....thanks for sharing your PB.

And, you have to be admired for spending the time to revive the muskie. That was a long time. I wonder how many others would spend that amount of time to revive a muskie......way to go.

Agreed awesome/great fish for your kids to see, but measure look at pictures of other fish before you geuss. Fish in the fall that size don't get that girth unless they are very heavily feeding. Cool story to tell for your kids!!

That fish easily has a 25" girth. Look at it compared to his hand. Actually, guest may have been right, it looks closer to 26"!!!

Why can't there be a post with a fish where people, usually more than one, don't have to be a complete jackass behind the keyboard? Give it a rest already. Hardly anyone shares pics anymore because of the comments made by those who know everything and I'm sure are nothing but perfect. Good grief.

That is a helluva fish - that head looks prehistoric! Nicely done with the new PB and sharing the time with your boys, that is awesome. Congrats on a great fish.

Great, more internet tough guys who hide behind a keyboard...

After viewing half a million pictures of fish on the internet in recent years, by now people should recognize that it is hard to determine the actual size of a fish from a picture. There are too many variables--the size of the person holding the fish, how the fish is held, zoom in/out, how much background, etc. I have my pictures of my own fish that look bigger than they really were and pictures that make the fish look smaller.

That's why I know longer question what someone claims unless it is really ridiculous. I love the guys who will say a fish in a picture is 48 but not 49, has a 24 inch girth but not 25, etc.

I will say this, and I have seen a couple 52 inch fish: the fish in the picture is a big a$$ fish, and I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Rjmiller, That is a very nice fish. Love the big old noggin on the fish. Great experience to share with your sons. Congradulations also on taking the time and patiance releasing the fish. Maybe one of your sons will catch it next with a 26" girth:D

I like reading these forums BUT,
I become annoyed at some of the BS.
IMO the 25" girth on this fish is BS.
52.75 X 25 X 25/ 800 = 41.2 #
I think 52.75 X 22 X 22 / 800 = 31.9 # is more like it.
The easiest way to catch a 40#er is play with the #s until the formula says 40#s!
