| i'm thinking about a new pair of shoes for wearing in the boat. long days casting make for sore feet...what kind do you like to stay comfortable? |

Location: beloit | I liked my under armor shoes for the little bit of time I was able to wear them for fishing last year. spent 2 days on the chip with ty and my feet never got sore with them. |

| Jus got a pair of the new Nike free runs. Made to be worn bare foot. Really light and comfy. Just wore them 10 days in Hawaii. Nice shoes!

I've been wearing these at work for a bit, seems to be better for the plantar fasciitis I've been fighting in one foot than the other cheap shoes I've tried for work. Would imagine they'd be a good choice for in the boat as well. |

| I go barefoot on warm days a lot of the time....but other times I wear Merrell Moab Goretex shoes, waterproof and pretty comfortable once broken in..I put a pair of dr scholes gel inserts in as well... |

| Second on the Merrells, they have a great product. I have 2 pairs, one a trail shoe and the second being more of a dress casual. I wear mine dress casuals for a full day on my feet teaching and I have spent full days on the boat casting with the trail shoe. Both are very comfortable. I would say go try on a few different models of Merrells and see what you like. It also helps that they have many models that include goretex incase that quick shower happens to roll in. |

| I would say go try on a few different models of Merrells and see what you like. i have Merrell boots for backpacking and wear their trail shoes for daily use at work and whatnot. the stiff soles are great for those uses, but my dogs start barking after a long day in the boat wearing them. i'm wondering if i should try something with more cushion? |

Location: Ft. Wayne Indiana | With all the time I spend fishing, I also searched for something comfortable and lightweight. These are by far the best fishing shoes I have....liked them so much that I now own 4 pair of them. There are a few different styles, but I like these the best, they are Shimano Evair sandals.
Google search and you'll find a lot of different places to order them from, I bought mine for $30 a pair.
They have removable insole as well and are very comfortable.

Waterproof, breathable, and around $150 a pair.
If you purchase a pair that are strictly dedicated to wearing in the boat (not to-and-from but only on the boat) they will last for years. |

Location: Pelican Rapids, MN | Crocs are insanely comfortable, but can get really hot in the summer. For weather above 60 I'm in Sanuk Lazy Boy Flip Flops and in under 60 temps, I'm usually in Crocs or running shoes...Or UGG slippers. Did purchase a pair of the NIKE FREE RUN shoes. They are incredibly lightweight and anti microbial. We'll see. |

I used to fish barefoot for years until I stepped on a 10 inch Believer. The heel is not a fun place to work a big treble hook out. I tend to learn my lessons the hard way... |

Location: c.wis | look at some skate board shoes- there like pillows for your feet, good for cooler- 70 deg. weather. prices range from 20-120.00 ive found that etnies and dc have the most comfy shoes, but i guess you get what you pay for- my .02 |

Location: Michigan | I have tried crocs, tevas, running shoes, flip flops, merrell goretex low hikers, barefoot, and have to say crocs are probably my preffered. But I have a pair of New Balance running shoes that are a close second. I get the most stability from the NB runners. |

| Crocs can get hot. My biggest concern is slipping on them. They seem to be just fine wearing them on carpet, but smooth (wet) surfaces could be a problem. I believe I was wearing the Croc's Clogs (Classic) when I feel a couple of years ago (not in a boat). The bottom of the shoe seemed to be fairly smooth. The pair I now own has a sole that appears to have more traction. I think they are Clogs too, but they have more of a sole with deeper and wider cuts.
Therefore, it is best to look at each model rather than judge by the brand name only. |

| Barefoot!! There's no better feeling than fishing barefoot on a hot summer evening and a nice light summer breeze! Gosh I miss summer!! Besides fishing barefoot I'll wear my New Balance or Asics. If I'm forced to wear shoes fishing you can't beat a cross trainer or running shoe. I'm on my feet all day for work and swear by a good New Balance or Asic shoe. Keep your deck clean and I still will choose barefoot in the summer anyday. If the trolling motor pedal gets too hot I'll throw on a flip flop and good to go. I just love summer!! |

"Nowadays, "clogs" also mean comfortable slip-on shoes."
I was trying to say the bottom of the Croc's Classic Clog was too smooth on wet surfaces. I fell on a wet garage floor wearing a pair. The bump on my head was concern enough to go to hospital. One only has to fall once like that to be aware how stupid I was wearing those Croc's. Of course, not all Croc's fall into that category.

I'm surprised that anybody would get sore feet in the boat, but there must be better shoes than what you are using. I have worn Dr. Scholls low cut tennis shoes for years working on hard tile floors and fishing and they are really comfortable for both. I would not wear any shoes with cut outs when musky fishing. I especially wouldn't do that if I was the kind of guy that had to go to the emergency room every time I sunk a hook into myself...  |
