Posts: 181 Location: Valparaiso, Indiana | It was tough up in Minaki this past week. Battling 20-30mph winds for most of it and getting hammered with 6 inches of rain. We were able to boat a few nice muskies and a bunch of notherns when the weather turned nice. Here are a few pics. I boated a 46"er and my buddy Charlie boated a 50 and 36 incher... Over all it was a nice trip...water temps were 62-65 degrees all week. Posts: 95 Location: LOTW every chance I get | Nice work! I was up there last weekend and it was definitely tough sledding with the wind and rain. Didn't see a musky, but boated 5 Northerns up to 45" in one half hour stretch.

Posts: 199 Location: Nebraska | Tough for us as well. Just got back last night. We were there for 10 days. Eight guys caught eight muskies 38-43, plus several shorts. Really a rough go, definitely the toughest that I have seen in 16 years of late September trips to Minaki.

Posts: 156 | I was going to post a Minaki report too since I'm just back, but I'll just post up here instead of adding a seperate Minaki thread. Fished 9/11 to 9/17. Action seemed to be better earlier in the week. Did not spend enough time on what I consider big fish spots because the non-stop winds had us working protected bays a lot. My one and only 'ski of the trip came off of wind driven rocks South of Minaki in the middle of the afternoon on Monday. It was however my PB at 47.5". I caught this fish on a 10" unweighted Suick (bronze perch) the second time around in the figure 8. Watching the fish eat the bait was a real thrill. Only 2 other follows all week. This was my first time to Canada for fishing, but my uncle who had been many times said the fishing is usually better. There are so many good looking spots with nobody fishing them it is real easy to get overwhelmed. Feel like I would have done better if I had said wind be #*^@ed and fished more big water wind blown rocks but it was just too rough much of the week.
