Location: Greenfield, WI | I got to meet up with my son and fish for two days on a couple of somewhat remote rivers in northern WI.
Russ brought up a 38"er, I caught it. We saw twelve other muskies and boated nearly a million and 5 northerns (obviously an approximate count!), with Russ' best being a 33.5", a 30", and 6 others over 25".
We fried ourselves in the 90+ heat, but this trip would be great even catching nothing.
This Memorial Weekend trip has become a welcome much antisipated tradfition for both of us!

Location: Bloomer, Wi | here is a memorial day 40" musky I caught by myself on a homemade cedar topper I painted a stink pumpkin pattern, fish hit at 540 am. Had to fish from shore cuz the new trolling motor went to hell on me last night (bummer).

Location: Ogden, Ut | Went out for a couple hours Friday morning. Moved 4 fish but no eaters. The last fish was one of those fish that makes you set a waypoint...

Spent the rest of the weekend trips on a bigger reservoir chasing walleyes - didn't feel the need to share my personal space w/ too many weekend pleasure boaters. Ended up w/ 5 nice walleyes (15-23"), 3 wipers (13-20"), and 2 smallies making it to the boat.

Location: Hayward, WI | Thought I was going to spend most of the weekend in the boat, but ended up getting about 8 total hours of fishing in over the course of Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
Caught a 39 and change within the first 5 minutes of being out - around 8:00 PM on Saturday in 6-8 feet over rocks. Caught a 39 1/2 today around 11:00 AM in about 6 feet over cabbage. Both fish came on a Hardhead. Mostly got chased off the water during the couple hours I was out Sunday night, but beautiful weather otherwise!
Way to not let the busted trolling motor knock you down Joe.

Location: Verona, WI | Got out Friday evening trolling on Wingra with the kids. My 4 year old daughter kept claiming she wanted to catch a musky on Wingra. She got her very first musky - this 26 1/2" that hit on a TI Bass Nibbler. My son got his biggest - a 43" that hit on a Dinnerbell trolled behind a weight. Both kids reeled the fish in themselves (though I did have to hold the rod tip up for my daughter!). Very cool evening!
We also got two others. Any more warm weather and Wingra will be off limits for me - 77 degrees on May 28th is ridiculous.

Location: st. croix county, wisconsin | this weekend me and two buddies fished the island chain near chetek and some good success.
saturday no muskie action but caught some pike and bass, sunday two muskies were caunght, a 36" in the morning and a 34" mid day along with a two good size northerns around 30".

Location: Bloomer, Wi | Tucker, I raised a fish I thought was 40'' in that exact spot where you got the 39 1/2 so maybe the same fish, she was pretty active when I raised her, but couldnt get her to commit. ggod job on the couple fish that made for a pretty good opening weekend Id say for ya. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I only ended up fishing Muskies a coulpe hours. Saw a couple, no takers. Sue was on call all weekend, and it was our Anniversary, so I spent the weekend around the house; the wind was a trip Saturday anyway. We went out for 5 hours today fishing big gills in the 1690. Keith and his family went out a couple hours before us, and we all had an absolute blast. Sue and I easily caught 100 fish, pitching back 7.5" average gills all day. They were mostly post spawn to very late spawn, and the largest were on the reed edges; the ones we cleaned were empty. We had a GREAT dinner, gill fillets and veggies. Biggest were about 9.5", and those were hybrids.
Muskies tomorrow evening!

Location: Northwest Wisconsin | Only one mid 20's and 3 follows and Saturday. Sunday I got the first 40+ of the year in the boat. Would have liked better results but it was great being in the hunt again and can't wait to get out again next weekend.

Location: Syracuse, Indiana | Counting 13 hours in the blazing sun on Saturday, I now have roughly 50 hours of Muskie fishing this year with nothing boated. I have had 8 strikes, and had many follows, but I cannot get my net slimy. Hooks are sharp, equipment is good, I'm seeing fish, but can't keep them hooked. AAARRRGGGHHH. Sorry for whining. Wish I could get out today. |

Location: Pelican Lake/Three Lakes Chain | I fished about five hours on each Saturday and Sunday. Was a little surprised at how slow the fishing was. Saw a few and boated a 36" tiger on Saturday. Sunday was rotten.
Boom tonight, maybe the weather change perked the fish up a little. |

Location: Minnesota: where it's tough to be a sportsfan! | I was poking around looking at a few lakes and had a Ski come up alongside the boat and shaddow me for about 15 mins. (Being in Minnesota all I can do is look until this coming weekend) She was a nice 46-49" fish and was acting like she was waiting for me to do something or scare something out of the weeds she could chase........Bettin' she'll be hiding coem Saturday!!! |

Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | 3 for 3 on Saturday afternoon, 6 for 7 on Sunday morning. Beautiful times on the BIG pond but the flies were nasty on Sunday (I counted 105 that I killed). And yes, the one that got away was MUCH bigger than anything else we hooked, just couldnt get it under that lead core board on the outside. Salmon fillets anyone? |

| Spent Sunday fishing bass with my Son. We started on a pond and got warmed up, catching about 25 small ones. After stopping home to let the dog out, we headed to a local lake to do some wading. We waded for 6 hours or so and went through 2 packs of Senkos. Mikie caught about 20 himself, wacky rigging a 4" Senko . The statement of the day came when he exclaimed, "this is the best day of my life aside from when you took me to the Bears game"! From the mouths of babes...... Crazy kid has now claimed my St. Croix 6'8" Mojo Bass!!!! I've created a monster!!! |

Location: Lake Tomahawk, WI | Had family in town all weekend, spent a lot of time unhooking gills and bass for the nephews/nieces. Got out for muskies for about an hour and a half on Saturday midday, raised 2 mid-30's.
Lot's of big largemouths over the weekend with the kids, great food, cheap beer, breaking up a couple of scraps between my nephews, Blackhawks winning 2 at home (knock on wood), quality time with family = a ton of fun.

Noble gills. For the fun and exercise of it casted Len Thompson spoons into the Allegheny River at Pittsburgh within a long fly ball of PNC Park. The water is filthy, but to my surprise hooked about a 10" smallmouth on a flame and brass pattern 1 oz. spoon. To my good fortune, he flipped the hook before I had to reach down and capture him by hand. |

| fished the Three Lakes Chain this weekend. Saturday I had about 6 small fish follow and no takers. Sunday two follows and one taker, it was a 32, but took it on the 8, so that was fun. The downside of the weekend was Sunday night some *hole decided to try and swipe by sonar/gps. Unscrewed three of the connectors and cut the last one, took apart my swivel bracket and left the graph on the back deck of the boat. Must have got scared off by someone coming in boat or on foot. I guess I lucked out and it was still there. I guess it has been kind of dumb of me to not take these off every night when I'm up here, just never been a problem and it is a pain to disconnect all the cables and carry them up everynight/morning. Lesson learned I guess. Still up here until wednesday this morning was slow big mayfly hatch last night. May look for some cisco tonight and try something other than great looking weedbeds.

Low, but not so much you can't launch or fish it. I stayed on the north end for the most part, and had no problems with the exception of getting the Tuffy stuck at the landing on Townline. If you launch on Townline don't let your boat float toward the creek, waters pretty skinny over there!

Location: Gone Fishin | I fished the Three Lakes Chain with my brother in law. The water is about 2-3 feet low. Most of the channels between lakes are passible but there are going to be a lot of props dinged up this year. We 2 follows Saturday morning and nothing in the evening. Since the action was slow we put the boat in accross the street on Spirit Lake on Sunday. I nailed a healthy 38 incher before the fronts moved in and and my bro-in-law had one on the hooks but couldn't keep her pinned. Monday morning brought cooler temps and no action except for some bass and pike. |

Location: Oconto Falls, WI | Like some others spent most of my musky opening weekend targeting other species. Took the kids panfishing several times and they had a ball catching all the bluegills they could handle.
I did get out musky fishing opening morning for several hours, but didn’t boat anything. Missed one fish that attempted to eat a Fish Stick HD boatside as I was apparently too quick on the trigger finger. It’s a good thing I was just as quick after the miss to save my boat partner from eating the Fish Stick in the groin! We moved quite a few fish including some good ones. Just couldn’t seal the deal Sat. morning.

Location: SE, WI. | SVL; Only fished mornings this past weekend. Lakes were chaos With pleasure boaters by 1030AM.. Had action from 7 fish all weekend...Somewhat slow, BUT, did manage to grab 4 behind the gills....41", 40",45", and a 36.5". Good ending to May...  JIM |

| Only got out for muskies for 4-5 ours on Sunday with nothing to show for it. Spent the rest of my time taking a friends kids out fishing for panfish. They had a blast with little gills and rock bass, so all in all it was a good weekend. |

| Nice work Curleytail!! We had a pretty good opening weekend, we ended up for the 3 days having 35 follows and my wife stold the show by nailing a 45" and a 38 1/2" on opening Sat. So it was all in all a great weekend!
