| Just returned from a week on LOTW, and what a week it was. My girlfriend and I spent the week together and really had some good action. We got a 47"er trolling along with a few from 34-40", got a 46"er at night coming back to a fish raised by day. On Wed of the trip, I lost the biggest fish i've ever hooked(52-53") and was simply a zombie for the remainder of the week. My girlfriend hooked and lost no fewer than 5 muskies in the 44-50" range on surface lures, and caught a few up to 40, and also a 26" walleye. The last night of the trip(Sunday) we made our trek to the hot spot which happened to be 14 miles from camp all week, and she immediately had a 50+ blow up her surface bait. We went back at 10:00 PM, and it was our last drift, and she said "ok last cast". She got her bait in before I did, and 8 feet from the boat, my custom RY lur was inhaled by my first 50"er(50.5 to be exact). I was so glad my girlfriend was able to experience it with me, and we'll definately be back next year!!!!
My normal fishing partner(Greg Peterson) wasn't able to make the trip due to getting a new job a couple weeks ago. So if you talk to him, don't rub it in.

| Congrats Reef Hawg! All of those hours finally paid off. Sounds like you girlfriend is quite the angler too. I wish I could put my wife onto some fish like that. I might get her to stay out longer then. lol |

Congratulations on the monster. I've caught hundreds of muskies, yet the closest I've gotten was 49.75" I think that Jason and I are in direct competition for the most muskies without breaking 50! [:p]

| Thanks guys!!! Fish on, Johnmd, I was going to pop the question up there, but with such short notice I couldn't come up with the extra coin to buy the jewels, so I bought a Reef Hawg, a Bull Dawg, and had Mr. Durst paint up a couple of Topraiders for her. She was just as happy(yeah right). It was nice to have the girlfriend along on a trip like that to keep things exciting, as any musky hunter knows, we must sometimes create our own excitement. She is already threatening me with beating big fish off with the net, if I ask anyone elso to go along next year. |

| I can see it now, as Jason and his Bride walk out of the church all the folks from Miskiefirst are standing there at attention with thier St.Croix Rods held high forming an arch for them to walk under while others toss PAYDAY'S at them[:devil:]

Nothing beats seeing a guys crash after releasing his first 50 plus incher due to knee shakes.

I actually would have been just as happy had it have been her that caught it. She has the bug even stronger now, which makes getting out around here a bit easier during the week, as she comes with most of the time now. |
