One I read all the time,

"if you do what you've always done, you'll get what you always got".

Patently bogus.  This assumes a non dynamic weather, water, and ecosytem.  I find myself doing what I did, more and more, but the results vary substantially from year to year, day to day, hour to hour.  When you are doing it essentially right, it has no guarantee that good results will come your way.

If this were true, the stuff I learned in the first half of the decade ought to be making me wildly successful in the second half of the decade.  Tell that to the fish.

Anybody that lives by that particular saying ought to ask Dick Pearson to send them a buck everytime they get skunked.  Dick, you need my address???

A much better saying(and I can just about guarantee somebody already said it, but I don't know who),

You never get to fish the same water twice.

I kinda take this one opposite of your interpretation. I'm not sure how Pearson meant it, I've never read his stuff. What if you did everything wrong? What if you always caught small fish? What if you picked spots by how they looked and not because they were good structure?

My favorite untrue...

Find baitfish and you'll find muskies.

"Winds from the east, fish bite the least".
On numerous ocassions, I have watched an east wind blow a storm in and the fish go absolutely ballistic suicidal just before that storm hits. I've also caught plenty of fish on bluebird days with east winds.

Someone catches a nice fish. And shows some people the photo, video, or god forbid the actuall fish. Only to hear from the ''lakes owners'' LOL.
''You can't name bodys of water it ruins fisheries''.
And''Let it go let it grow''...Ok that saying is mostly true and I agree with that saying. But I hear that saying so much. And see so many people not practicing what they preach so often. That to hear that saying makes me puke!
BTW, Some of those guys are the same ones sneeking to shore with the 21'' smallie, 23''lmb,30''eye,50''ski hidden in the bottom of the boat.

Oh, and when someone see's the fish. it was always ''Deeply hooked''and then in the same breath....''Dont tell anybody where I got it'' LOL!

Circle hooks will hook them in the corner of the lip.
Smallies maybe. From the muskies I've caught and heard of being caught on circles about 50% were hooked in the corner of the jaw. The other 50% the hook never came out.

It will be hard to top that one Happy Hooker!

Here's my favorite: "A topwater has got to be BLACK at night for a fish to find its silhouette, otherwise it can't see it."

Folks... what color is a perch at night? Perch colored. A Cisco? Cisco colored. Crappie? Sucker? How about a duckling? You get the point.

Wouldn't you really rather throw the color that you can see the best and just believe they know where their food is? I would.

Small baits are the only lures that work in the spring. Musky's will not eat big cranks or big rubber until the fall. Of course we know that all musky's wait until fall to put the feedbag on.

"Musky put the feedbag on in the fall!"

Simply not the case and very misunderstood. Musky begin forming eggs in the late summer and continue to do so throughout the fall and winter - the reason for the heavy bellies. Fish in the fall are actually very lethargic and less hungry than what is commonly interpreted.

A guide once told me that as far as he knows, muskies can't read and don't watch videos. I asked him how he knew this and his reply was that he asked 'em. Hahahaha.

Heavy fishing pressure on lakes makes the fish only follow and less likely to bite. Wonder how musky fisherman continue to catch many fish on the Madison chain or lake Minnetonka. BG
