Posts: 578 Location: Sheboygan Falls, WI | Okay, my first post in....oh, like 2 years or so. Well, I have not been musky fishing in 2 years, so not much to post. I decided that now is as good as time as any to get back on the water for some stinky fish as I have been spending all of my time trout and salmon fishing. I hooked up with my great friend Ed Spoerl for a day on the Bay. Ed has never fished the Bay before for musky, so we decided to give it a swing. Ed was asking who, what, when, where and why about the Bay musky and I told him and showed him everything that I could. Just over an hour into the trip a board took off. Being a charter captain and first mate I instinctively grabbed the rod, made sure the fish was there and handed it over to Ed. It felt like a good fish and Ed battled it like the great fisherman that he is. I cleared the down rod on the fish side, got the net ready and watched patiently ready to slide the net under the fish. Well, the fish came to the boat, I soiled my shorts and slid the net under the fish. Here is the result of a 2 year hiatus from musky fishing....getting Ed this 51.5" Green Bay Pig. No girth measurement was taken, but I am figuring 40lbs+. BIG, FAT, WIDE, DEEP FAT HEAD!!! Hopefully I can get the pics to load the first time round. If not, be patient, they will be here shortly. CONGRATS AGAIN ED!!! GREAT FISH FOR A GREAT GUY!!! Chuck Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]() ![]()

Posts: 331 Location: Stevens Point, Wisconsin | Thanks Chuck! Even if we get skunked we always have a great time fishing together. Thanks for doing all the work while I smoked my cigars and drank diet dew. For those of you, who have never had the privilege to fish with Chuck, let me tell you that when it comes to trolling he is a master. From kings on Lake Michigan under a full moon to muskies, he is really dialed in! Catching fish with Chuck is always a bonus! Thanks again buddy! Ed Maybe next time we should move the pee jug before taking pictures. LOL

Posts: 578 Location: Sheboygan Falls, WI | Thanks for the kind words Ed, but you did all the work on the fish. Whenever we hit the water together the fish Gods always seem to be watching over us. Like our Wisconsin River Drifts, our Three Lakes Chain outings, our salmon outings on Lake Michigan, our walleye outings on LOTW with Brooke and now today. Gotta love it when plans come together. Pee jug? Oh, you mean the "Silver Chalice". LOL That is the original pee jug from the original Playin' Hooky Charters boat. It brings me good luck. LOL Let me know about next week Ed. Then we will have to look at the following week. Gotta a call on the way home tonight. I should start teaching in the next 2 weeks. Just enough time to get back on the Bay a few more times. ![]() Chuck

Posts: 3518 Location: north central wisconsin | I got the call yesterday as fish was netted. I am so proud of Ed, and glad that Chuck was able to have success the first trip back to the area I showed him the year before last. Wish I could have been over there to share in ed's exitement, but glad the call came in while he was still hyperventilating!! It was a very tough bite there yesterday by guides and anglers aloke, so good show boys!! It has not been easy out there as of late by any means. Edited by Reef Hawg 10/29/2009 7:36 AM

Posts: 578 Location: Sheboygan Falls, WI | Sorry Mike and Kevin, bike tires were flat, bell got ripped off last time fishing, never saw a bus and they are NOT just shoes....they are sneakers. My orange bike flag is also in tatters due to the many days of storm force winds this summer here in Sheboygan. Crabs are hard to find from going more dormant for the year, so my dueling crab rigs are put away. Dough balls tend to freeze more solid and hard to use too. LOL That was a fun chat with TJ.

Location: WI | Way to go Fast Eddie and Chuck! And beautiful paint job on that piggy. Couldnt have happened to two better dudes. Although I am not surprised as Ed is part musky, and Chuck is a trolling guru. Chuck, looks a lot like that piggy you caught that day out with reefhawg and I, have you tried comparing markings?

Posts: 578 Location: Sheboygan Falls, WI | Thanks Shane!! I don't know what happend to those pics from that day, so I can't compare. This was a BEAUTIFUL fish though that Ed got. I loved the markings on it. No fin clips and no blemishes at all. Then again, not sure if they do any fin clipping of the fish. Thought I saw a few with some clipped fins though at one time.
