Do some guys know how to throw and catch fish on other baits besides double 10s?
Fish must only eat those as it seems every boat I see and hear lately is throwing them, and it's not even June yet.
Sorry had to vent.

Tools. They're tools. Just like a hammer or screwdriver, there's a time and a place for them. As the season wears on, you will see a lot of people who bought 10 of them at the shows this winter slowly realizing that double 10's are not some magic lure that works any time any place, and catches fish that otherwise wouldn't have moved.

I don't own a hammer, never have, never will. I do however, enjoy the occasional screwdriver.

Let's not get on a roll with this thread, there's no reason. Redundancy. . .

I love the sound of double 10 clanking in the thin air, gets my blood flowing thinking about canada so I get all hyper and happy, then realization sets in when i have 3 more months till canada.....then the acceptance stage...

If you're not throwing double 10s, you might as well fish in the parking lot.

I really hope some of the guys who just won't bring themselves to toss the big girls will bring themselves to some of the same tournaments I intend to fish. They are likely to be still using a dial-up connection and dragging an anchor to map out the depth of their lakes. There are times when a gentleman simply just must give credit where credit is due. In the case of musky fishing, the Musky Innovations introduction of the Bulldawg and the Musky Mayhem gift of the Double-Cowgirls can truly be said to have caused a "revolution" to the staus quo. Both baits came along and simply blew away the field. Certainly, it will happen again when the next truly great idea enters the water where musky live, and that new product will be trashed on the internet as well. In the meantime, I will be clanking away (when appropriate) or when I simply just must catch a fish. Marty Forman

Thats like saying you hate the sound of gun shots when your hunting, or trap shooting, IMO.

I like hearing them clank when a fish comes out of the water shaking its head with one in its mouth and me tied to the other end.

Now you're talking, especially in those slow motion clips of that exact occasion when caught on film!

I can understand it to a point . it could take something away if it just becomes a double 10 world,

here in Minnesota we have "NO" walleye show anymore!!! its the state fish and we have the most walleye anglers of anywhere,,,,how many rigs and jigs can you look at before it gets boring but thats what works.

if it comes down to % wise per casts Double tens are it then the only variable between you and the other 7 boats working arrowhead reef on vermilion at the same time are,, right place right time and figure eight tricks.

Based on what you see on all the muskie boards is "my plan" book a vacation to Vermilion and Mile Lacs and throw a double 10 for a week because I gotta!!!! bottom line get that 'picture' holding a 50' and if I have to miss all the scenery by fishing at night then thats what I "HAVE" to do
I live in the land of 50' inchers and my two fav places to fish are ones Ive never even seen a 50' on,,,but I dont have to throw a ten or get in line.

I'm of the belief that your odds go down dramatically when you're the 4th or 5th boat through a spot throwing the same lure at the same fish...

I'm not saying I don't or won't throw double 10's, but it's not always the first lure out of the box, especially in places where everybody is throwing them. A revolution? Double bladed bucktails have been around for a long long time, so have #10 blades. I think the next "revolution" is going to be when everyone realizes that spinnerbaits, single bladed bucktails, suicks, bobbie baits, cranes, etc. still catch fish when you throw them instead of letting them gather dust in your basement because you think muskies only eat double 10's now...

I love it!

Sounds even better when they clank together when the fish is head shaking in the net. No other sound like it.

I throw the heck out of them, well over 50% of my casts this year will be with cowgirls. Why would it bother you that lots of people throw them so frequently? They are a great fish catching tool but not always the best choice of course, they have their place and time. I just kind of focus on myself and and not so much what everyone else is doing. Better for my nerves. Whatever you are throwing good luck.

I happen to throw them quite a distance, too! Unfortunately that's a trick you can only do one time in a row!

locally I don't personally know of a fish caught on double 10s yet in May, sure some have, but not any that I know of...yet every boat I see is throwing them?
huh. funny that fish are eating quite a few other baits in my boat but everyone is throwing (and not catching anything) double 10s...tools. that is a word that could be used to describe a couple things! ; )
