Jon, that's an awesome setup for being somewhat new. I've been into this for 3 years now and only have:

8" XH Shimano Compre / Calcutta 400B - Pounders, 2x10's, suicks, topwater, etc.
6'9 St. Croix Premier / Millionaire - Jerkbaits and jackpots
7' Old Fenwick / Guide Series 66 - Basically a sucker set up
That's about it right now...quite a few more reels that go on some old rods once in a while for sucker rods. I also have a rand new 8'6" XH Tica Musky Rod that I'm looking to sell if you want to match it up with your Tekota Jon!
I definitely agree about being jealous of Jerry...someday...right now, college doesn't allow me to spend as much as I want.

That is a sweet set-up for a beginner - Here is a look at an addicts garage!... My garage... My buddy saw this thread and thought I should show you what you have in store - The Rod holders on the ceiling were my wife's Idea, She had a great idea for reel storage as well... I'll take a pic later!
For now you can enjoy this one.

I have a collection that is about 1/4 of what Jerry's is, in the basement. My wife counted the baits that are just hanging and not getting used the other day. She asked me why I needed 178 musky baits that I didn't even use. I asked her why she needed 37 pairs of black shoes that she doesn't even wear. She turned and went upstairs. I slept on the couch last night.

Anyways, back to the original post:

8'6" Legend Tournament BigDawg / Abu Garcia Revo Toro 60
8' Musky Innovations Magnum Bulldawg / St. Croix AC 300
8' St. Croix Premier MHF / St. Croix AC 300
7'2" St. Croix Premier MHF / Abu Garcia 5600 C4

The last rod is almost exclusively a gliderbait rod. I like to work gliders with a downward pull and I've found that this length with a high speed (6.3:1) reel works the best for me.

Years ago, I had a nephew visit. He wanted his own rod so we stopped at Cabelas and he picked out a Whuppin' Stick. That thing is iron clad. I now use it to do things like - jack up my truck, shoot pool, hack down trees, cane trespassers, and just everyday ordinary stuff. It still has all it's guides too.
