Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The N WI opener for Walleyes and Pike is this weekend, but I'll be in Minnesota on a video/photo shoot for one of our sponsors until Saturday night. I'll hit Pelican for 'eyes Sunday morning, probably.

| Yep..no Musky north of H/10 (Wisconsin) until the 23 of May. But I'm chompin' at the bit waiting for the Walleye opener this Saturday. Will hit the Chip in search of Eyeballs. |

| Do you guys that night fish the WI opener normally have much luck. (at night?) - just curious? I would think a lot of the fish in WI will still be in the middle of spawning?

I have only fished at night on the opener the last 2 yrs and haven't had any luck until a moon phase or when the sun starts coming up. I don't go out at midnight because I know the fish will be active, I go out because season is finally open and I have been waiting 153 days to fish for muskies in WI. I would be willing to bet that there are a lot of fish that are post spawn this year on opener in southern Wisconsin with the higher water temps then last year. |

| Hey, just one more thing. With the rains that we have been having in SE Wisconsin, there is an outside chance you might find a "slow-no wake" rule in effect when you get to the ramp. Be careful to watch for those notices and even if you don't encounter one, it is probably a good idea to take it easy and show respect to the lake dwellers who are likely to be living the lake life both inside and outside of their homes this week. A little kindness can go a long way towards presenting a positive feelings for anglers. Marty Forman |

Location: Verona, WI | Not sure what water temps were last year but I was out two days ago at 6 pm and main lake Monona was 49.4 degrees and the Squaw Bay shallows were 50-51. I am not thinking post spawn but I'll try anything.

Ya I haven't been on Monona at all this year but this last weekend the water temps on lakeside and dam side of wingra were at 62 degrees and last time I was down there was on Tuesday and they had dropped to about 56, we will have to see what the water temps are tomorrow. We are about 2 weeks ahead this year compared to this time last year with the late ice out.

i think that a few will be but i have seen a few that look like they have droped there eggs so if they have made back to monona they will be post spawn. good luck to all and be safe. |

| I will be out on Wingwa with several other Flatlanders. It is a traditional outing for us. We will have a cookout at lunch and then back out. Heading right back up on Sunday. Opening day is one of if not my favorite days of the year. Just knowing that I can hit Wisconsin waters makes me all a quiver !!!

Location: Lake Tomahawk, WI | We'll be filming walleyes/smallmouth/pike in and around Vilas County. May is always a lot of fun, lots of fish and definitely get the lowdown on water temps, weedgrowth, etc. for the upcoming muskie opener.
