Location: Forest Lake, Mn. | I was talking with an old friend the other day and the question was asked how many lakes have you fished in your life? I got to thinking about that and I can't remember them all after 45 years of fishing. But I thought I'd ask you and see if you can remember them all. Can You?
Here's a partial list of some of the waters I've fished in my lifetime.

Location: Madison WI | I can remember them all but that is most likely because I have only been in the addiction for 4 yrs. All the lakes are located in Wisconsin, Lake Wingra, Lake Kegonsa, Lake Waubesa, Lake Monona and the Chippewa Flowage. |

Location: Rhinelander. | Its actually a fun thing to keep track of. I have a wisconsin map in my garaage and a pin stuck in at every lake I fish. Those out of state I just write the name on yhe map. I try to fish 3 new ones every year. U here here thats easy to do. I did not count the pins as there alot of them up there.

Location: Southern W.Va. | Mostly rivers in my neck of the woods, here in W.Va. but when I get the chance to head to "Musky Heaven", to Wisc., Minn., & Canada,I've fished only about 18 and have caught fish in about 3/4 of the lakes that I've fished. Many of these lakes are smaller lakes as I seem to have better luck in lake s under 400 acres in size. I've yet to catch a fish in Wisc. in any of the larger lakes. My 2 favorite lakes in Wisc. are both right at 300 acres, quiet, no pressure and loaded with fish.

| I live in northern wi and primarly fish smaller lakes, most are considered action lakes. Most of the smaller lakes do not produce many fish around 50, but they are there on occation. |

| For muskies I am up to 63 different lakes or rivers. For all species likely in the 100s somewhere.
My conclusion after muskie fishing 63 different lakes/rivers are...... I would be better off sticking to a handful and learning them well. The grass usually isn't greener on the other side of the fence. Any hot bite is yesterdays news. |

Location: Cedarburg, Wisconsin | Lots. I have narrowed it down to a few I spend most of my time on though. Chasing the hot bite is something I've outgrown. I prefer to learn enough about the lakes I fish that I can create my own hot bite.
But it is still fun try new lakes. As a matter of fact, we usually do very good the first time we fish a new lake because we have no preconceived notions about where the fish "have" to be. It's just we don't try new lakes as often anymore as when we knew less and depended on the easier fishing to give us better results.
The good thing about fishing different lakes is that you are forced to create a larger skills set to be able to adjust. Any time you are learning, that's a good thing! |

I've got multiple lakes in over 30 states, 4 provinces and 3 countries if that is the case - I'm no Dahlberg but being only 36 I think that is pretty neat! And that's not even including saltwater. Now that I think about it, it's been a heck of a life!

Location: Iowa Great Lakes | Muskie waters is fairly small and the fact I have only had the addiction for 4 years now. Only 6 lakes for Muskies to date, but total lakes in my lifetime for everything else is well in the 100's in 4 states and 1 province. Hoping to add 3-5 new lakes to the muskie list this year. Next weekend will be a new to me lake and V in Aug will be 2, hoping for a trip with Dave up north to this year if health and check book allows. |

Location: N.FIB | I`ve fished alot of lakes around vilas county and northern wis area,madison area,IL,cave,central wis,canada.When I go on a week long trip to vilas we normally fish about 10-15 different lakes since alot of then connect to other lakes. |

A Vilas County Lake could mean 1 or 1300. If you take a look at MI, Musky Hunter, Esox Angler or one of the hundreds of bragging boards in NE Wisconsin, you'll see that " A Vilas Co. Lake" is very very well fished, but it keeps on producing. |

Location: Pittsburgh, PA | I've only fished 3 Lakes and none of those were for musky. I'm a river fisherman and I havent really fished too many of those. Mostly the same one but once I get out of high school I want that number to grow pretty rapidly. |

Location: Minnesota | The state map with pins in it or some way to mark the lakes I have fished is a good idea - I might have to do that in my tackle room. I ran through the lakes I could think of quickly and I quit trying to think of more when I hit 125 lakes in 6 states and 2 provinces. I honestly thought that it would be a higher number but I was slowing down thinking of lakes when I quit. |
