I didn't throw a DCG last season, so I'm trying it for the first time this one.. I'm hoping I like it. I really like the topraider, grandma/jake crank baits except work em like a jerk bait..

I also will be throwing the DCG for the first time this year. I like bucktails so I'm sure I'll like it. I also like Cranes and Baby Shallow Raiders for twitching, and Top Raiders.
Have a good season, Tom

We did this last year. I spent forever crunching the numbers and reported it. I think i still have the spread sheet somewhere.

Maybe we should wait for the season to be over before we go this route again... just a suggestion.

My favorite lure is whichever one gets eaten the most, but I agree that this should be done after season is over because I think most peoples favorite lure will change by then.

My own baits for sure! I took the plunge and used them exclusively last season. I caught 17. Catching on your own increases the happy factor!

- #8 bladed Shumway flasher. Not always effective, but it's a lure I could throw all day and not get tired of. Easy to cast, easy to figure 8, just the right weight on the right rod with the right reel. It's one of those lures that I can put exactly where I want when I throw it, and really pick apart a piece of structure.

- Gerry's Girls. Well built, to your specs, hold up well to multiple fish. Close second would be the spanky baits.

- DDD's. The ones that are a little bit heavier than neutrally buoyant are best. I have a few that actually float, and have caught fish on them, but they're not the same.

- spinnerbaits, either CJ's or Ace Tandems. I don't throw them much, but #*^@ if I don't catch a fish almost every time I put one on. Sometimes it's a pike of a bonus largemouth, but when I need to catch a fish? Spinnerbait time.

- WA Wabull, both sizes. Another lure that I don't give enough time to.

I changed tactics a little bit last year, so my favorite baits last year were Curly Sues and Super Ds along with the one Double Cowgirl I have. Before that (and still baits that I like a lot, but didn't fit many of the situations I was fishing last year), Rad Dogs, Mepps Musky Marabous, Weagles (still had my biggest fish of last year on a weagle), and Pacemakers were probably my most used favorite baits.
