Posts: 574 | I see these in the Muskyshop catalog, $14.99 wo! Do they have these already, or are they just anticipating their arrival? Did you make an all white this year? Thanks Jason

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | That may be a typo on the $14.99. My retail on those will be $19.99. They should be out and ready to go on or around first part of June. Yes on the all white. Actaully I did an all white with the glow plastisol. Hit two birds with one stone ![]() James James

Posts: 2687 Location: Hayward, WI | I saw that too and was surprised. I still can't complain about $20! Are the 8 ounce Super Ds going to be done around the first part of June also, or will they be done sooner (or later)? curleytail

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | All new colors and sizes are due in at the same time. These are way late IMO anyway. I had them scheduled to be done and ready last December but kept refusing prototypes due to little things and quality issues. Not worth putting a product out if it does not pass all standards. Learned a long time ago a "widget" is only as good as its weakest link. I have failed in the past and will in the future but I just try to keep the failure rate down as much as possible ![]() Edited by Tackle Industries 4/15/2009 5:53 PM

Posts: 2687 Location: Hayward, WI | Thanks for the reply. I think I speak for a lot of others when I say that I can't wait to see the new versions, but at the same time would rather wait an extra few weeks or a month to have the "best" product possible come out. Besides, this just builds the anticipation, and probably increases the amount of baits I buy when they come out. I'm not sure if that's good for me or bad for me? curleytail

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | Yes, I have a stupid triangle I force myself to not take down that I got in a marketing class a long time ago they made us techie geek scientist take at a chemical company I worked at. Three sides and each side has a word on it. 1) Speed 2) Quality and 3) Price/cost You only ever get two of the three when making a "widget". Each combination of two has its benefits and downfalls....choose wisely ![]()

Posts: 2687 Location: Hayward, WI | HA! It seems like in the musky community (or any hunting/fishing community), if you ignore #2, your product is quickly left behind and others quickly become substitutes. For us, I think I would put #2 first, #3 second but still very important, and #1 important, but definately last. curleytail

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | Hi Jay. I am keeping all original 24 colors and adding up to a final 42 total colors. Here are some of the new ones. These are just color prototypes but a few of the new ones (mix of colors #25 thru #42). I think between the 5 or 6 main line swimbait companies out now with so many color variations everyone should be able to find that favorite color ![]() Attachments ---------------- ![]()

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | Another one I thought of would be a reverse gold walleye. So, white body and white tail with a gold sparkle belly but add a gold back and gold side bars (kind of like the perch ones but use gold paint and not black). Even do the same but replace the white plastisol pigment (for the body and tail) with black plastisol. Throw on some red holographic eyes for fun ![]()

Posts: 2687 Location: Hayward, WI | I REALLY think that reverse walleye would be a cool color. Make that one and I'll buy a couple of them for sure. curleytail

Posts: 742 Location: Grand Rapids MN | I think you did a great job with the new colors... The chrome versions are sick and I was glad to see an all black and a few black with colored tails options show up. Ohh, can't forget that awesome walleye/orange tail color! I see there is a little difference in some of the white you use for tails and undersides. One is more of a 'pure' white and another has kind of an iridescence to it. An all white in that more iridescent white would top off the line up nice. Nice work and great job... it's good to see some of your lures in the catalogues!

Posts: 135 Location: Irvine, KY | Black with red flake/ White belly/ White Tail/ Red tip of tail.... this was produced in limited quantity by MI and was called "red hot sucker" I love this bait.... the only thing that would make it better is if it were a Super D!!!! James- PM me if youd like a picture.

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | PM sent--MI had another one they only made about 100-200 of called the Black Jewel. I heard they sold out of Gander M in a few days never to be seen again but some caught some real nice musky. This is why I don't like to make custom colors. Those guys who fell in love with the color will never find them again. If I add it I will never stop making it. As for the white, there is about 5 different whites you can use for pigments. I personally like the iridescent or what I call pearl white. I doubt the musky sees much difference but the pearl probably catches more customers ![]()

Posts: 2687 Location: Hayward, WI | I was at Gander Mountain in Eau Claire today and saw black w/ red flake, white belly and tail, with red tip of tail Dawgs. The color on the back of the package said "Black Jewel." They had 2 Mag Dawgs and one regular Dawg in that color. I was also at Scheels, and in both stores they had some of the new Dawgs with the coil harness and some without (some I couldn't tell because of the solid color). Funny to see Jame's design on their new baits. How does that saying go? Immitation is the sincerest form of flattery, I think. curleytail Edited by curleytail 4/21/2009 3:27 PM
