larry dalberg on my river.

okay, he probably isn't the best muskie guy out there, but i'd love to pick his brain how he dissects moving southern waters for both smallies and muskies.

My brother. He boats over 50 fish per year on average with usually a dozen or more 50 inchers. I think two years ago he had 19 fish over 49 inches. He always finds the fish. I think we're going Sturgeon fishing next week to give our equipment an early season work-over.

Although I have fished twice with him before I would have to say Dick Pearson. His knowledge and thought patterns on the water are very interesting. Besides, I like his bit of quirkiness. Right there with him is Frank Walsh. All I can say about Frank is he is a class act and just down right fun to fish with.

For LOTW because it is such an incredible place: Dick Pearson, Doug Johnson, or Jack Burns. Either of those gentlemen would make my year fishing my favorite body of water.

I've been fortunate enough to fish with some of the "best" anglers in the business. The amount of insight and knowledge I've gotten from fishing with them far surpasses anything I could have gotten from a book, a magazine, a website, etc. There are several more who I hope to have the opportunity to share the boat with some day. Guys like Tom Gelb, Dick Pearson, Doug Johnson... Not to discredit the young guides or anything, but there is no substitute for decades on the water.

If you really want to learn about muskie fishing there are two things you need to do:

1. Spend a day in the boat with someone who has 30 years or more under their belt.
2. When they talk, shut up and listen.
