the Wisconsin muskie season (south of Hwy 10) opens in one month!

where are you heading?
if you don't want to specify the lake, that's fine, just give an area...

Trout for me. I can't give up my trout fishing opening weekend, muskies bite well all summer long.

I plan on hitting Waubesa mid morning 10ish. I haven't had great luck extra early in the morning, and fighting crowds at the launch on the opener isn't a ton of fun either. I pitty the guys fishing Okauchee! How many trailer spots do you have there? Better be there by 4:30 if you want to park.

Good Luck wherever!

That's my turkey season so I won't be fishing, I'm hunting with Jordan Weeks so if you want any changes to the DNR let me know. Plus my youngest daughter is getting confirmed, so no fishing. I might go to Madison the following weekend.

Waupaca area but not until probably the 16th for me. Have to get some fish up North for the freezer for regular opener. Then the Land O' Lakes area for the North opener. It is finally getting closer to get the itch out of the system. Good luck to everyone getting out in a month.

I'm going to start out at around 5AM on the local fish factory. Heading over to Wauby later in the day.

Wauby typically has light musky pressure on the opener....BUT....there are about a million pan fisherman and 500,000 bass guys out there.

Hope to be on the Stevens Point stretch somewhere. The wife might have something to say about the boat hitting the water.

I will be taking a vacation day from work and helping coach track on the opener. If I survive that I will try fishing Lake Redstone.

Walleyes and smallies in Vilas, May is the best time of the summer for both. Plenty of time for muskies later on.
