I'm sure many of you take pics of your muskie success with your digital cameras. What do you do with those digital pics? This past weekend I gathered a bunch of my pics and put them together into a little presentation set to an old catchy tune. (The quality of the pics isn't great - not sure if it's something I did or if it's a side affect of uploading to youtube.) Do any of you recognize the song? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVHeYBIYjGY

VERY imaginative! I liked it. I'm much more boring... I just save them on my computer under 2007 fish, 2008 fish, etc.

I thought you looked familiar!!! Congrats on winning the Muskies Inc. Photo Contest a couple months back. That was a pretty sweet pic. (4:26)

Mine are on my laptop and backed up on a remote hard drive.
I wish that we would have had digital cameras and personnal computers 20 years ago.

Resurrecting an old thread... Thought I'd share another photo/music collection with you (not as good as the last one). I put this one together for a muskie club banquet I attended this past spring - Muskellunge Club of Wisconsin ( http://www.muskellungeclubwi.org/ ). The first section is pretty boring to watch (used during awards presentation and included member stories) so move the scroll bar to the right up to about 1:20 and start there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcAmcjEeqlo

The "Fencepost" song is by Joe Weiss from Spooner, WI. He's got 2 CDs out. You can order them at http://www.joeweissmusic.com/releases.html. I think he's got a couple other muskie songs. He's got some other catchy ones, too.

Dave

p.s. The yodeling song is from Kerry Christensen's "Hooked on Yodeling" cd http://www.kerrychristensen.com/music/index.html (but I'm guessing you're not as interested in that one! Kerry is a yodeling maniac - I have no idea how he can do that!!!!

Mine were on a laptop, now they are on a portable HD, as my laptop died...have not had time to put them on the new one yet, don't forget to back up your computers....

The most memorable pictures go in frames on four picuture shelves, each 3ft or 4 ft.

Cool new idea is using a digital picture frame. Marginal photos that might not merit a frame and place on the wall can get showtime.

I save mine on my computer and I also get a 4x6 print and put it in an album. I think its easier to pull out a photo album to show people rather than get on the computer and its kinda hard to take a desktop with you.

I don't take many pictures any more. I usually will only take a picture if someone is along with me. The only time I try a picture on my own is if the fish is really big and if I haven't seen any other big fish.

Until last year, I didn't even have a picture of any of the biggest Muskies I had ever caught. It sounds funny, but the biggest picture of a Muskie I had was of a 47 even though I had caught many larger. I even had one night with a 49 and two 48s and didn't click a picture. I was by myself and had a mid 50 incher going so why waste the time? I wanted the big one and I probably wouldn't have caught the two 48s had I spent time taking a picture of the 49. I caught them all just minutes apart.

Mostly I just catch them, release them quickly, and then look for the next one. Its fun catching multiple fish in minutes though. So far this year I have a double three casts apart and a triple all within 15 minutes of each other.

Lots of fun.

Nice collections guys! Here are some monsters that have been deserving of the spotlight over the past couple years. Memories of amazing fish that may never be seen by another human... Catch Photo Release!

Hammskie,
I'm curious why you think some of these fish will never be caught by another human? Are you fishing a private lake?
Fish over 50 are caught again and again on most public waters.

Well, tried uploading a video I did onto YouTube.Com, but it only uploaded 3/4 of it then cut it off, which sucks because the best part was the ending, but if you're interested in watching, check it out.

Well, you'll have some solid footage to start with. . . I have three good clips of you pulling your 43" from the other night out of the bag, holding her up for pics and her safe release. I've got them on a disk for you, so I'll keep it cased and with me on the water - I'm sure I'll see you out there. . . Otherwise, I can just stop by if you're not on the water.
