| Posts: 164 | Here is the new Suzy Spin, this lure is based on the very productive 6” Suzy Sucker. it features #8 and #5 Colorado blades. We will have these at the Chicago show and so will Thrones and R&H. We also have an even larger version of the Curly Sue. The Mammoth Curly Sue is over 25” long with the tail extended and weighs 23oz. it can be cast or trolled. Once I get a chance I will post some of the custom show colors to wet your appetites. I'd like to see some of the show colors you have going - they're always fun to see! If you post a picture of Mammoth Sue, I'd like to see it next to an 11" Sue or something for a size comparison. Sounds like a HUGE bait. curleytail Edited by curleytail 12/17/2008 1:31 PM | ||

| Posts: 1316 Location: Madison, WI | We've seen the test with the cordless drill about the durability of the plastic (which is very impressive). How durable do you expect this to be? With the arm being so big, do you see any problem with bending after one catch? | ||

| Posts: 164 | I won’t be going to Milwaukee show, but R&H will be at the show with stocks and possibly some custom show colors. I wanted to do some show colors for night fishing, I have one lure in particular that I really like. It has extra large silver holographic glitter, painted black scales on the back and a glow tail. Then it is clear coat dipped to make the bait really shine and the paint won’t rub off. I will get some pictures very soon. I forgot to mention that I will also have SHALLOW versions of the 9” Curly Sue. I have had a lot of requests for this lure and I am sure this will be a killer fished over sunken weeds etc. it has a very slow sink rate and can easily be worked on the surface, best of all it does not turn over so it can be straight retrieved at any speed or jerked. The Suzy Spin is about the same size as say an MG spinner bait. There is a good chance that the wire will get a little bent after catching a fish. I have used a lot of spinner baits for pike over the years and it’s not un-common for them to get a little bent and need tuning. This is not a very large spinner bait, but when I get time the 9” and 11” version will be! Edited by Shack Attack 12/17/2008 1:57 PM | ||

| Posts: 164 | Here are a couple of pictures that I promised to show you. The first is the Mammoth Curly Sue, this is pictured next to an 11” Curly Sue. I kept getting asked for a bigger version, so here it is. The second picture is my favorite custom show color. This is the one with the extra large silver holographic glitter, black scales and a glow tail. You might be able to see in the picture that the baits are clear coat dipped and I also added fine holographic silver glitter for extra sparkle. I think this is one of the best color combo’s I have made, with the glow tail and extra large glitter I am sure this will be a great bait night fishing, as the glitter will pick up any moon light and the tail will have the glow flash. Even in bright sun light, this bait really pops. I have some other color combo baits that I have painted and I must stress that these are limited numbers. Once I started painting these, I suddenly remembered why I don’t like to paint soft plastic lures. | Posts: 4266 | Andy, I love the painted ones. Really adds a nice touch on any of your plain colors. I like lures with a shot of contrast thrown in, so I'm going to be adding some of those to the box. Love the spinnerbait too. Best of 2 presentations put together....I love it. I'm curious...why don't you like to paint them? A reaction between the paint and plastic or just a pain in the butt? Beav Edited by Beaver 12/18/2008 9:03 PM | ||

| Is the suzy spin tail replaceable?Looks like a one fish bait if the fish just ate the tail.I think it might last longer with a treble hook closer to the rear of the bait. Tom M | |||

| Posts: 164 | Ben, I plan on going to Ohio, hopefully this time it won’t take 12 hours in a snow storm to get there! Tom, the Suzy Spin has been tested for quite some time, in fact over two years ago I made some, I just never had the time to make them in any large numbers. I have caught well over a dozen pike one Suzy Spin and apart from teeth marks there is nothing wrong with it. I have never had a tail bitten off on any of my Suzy Suckers, so I am very confident that this is more than a one fish bait. As I have said, I don’t have large numbers of the painted glow baits, I have already gotten a few pm’s requesting them. if you really want any at Chicago and don’t want to be disappointed if I have sold out let me know. if I get the time between now and the show I will try and make a few more, just let me know the size etc. I will have these baits at the MN show and maybe some other custom colors as I think of them. if anybody has any ideas of colors let me know and perhaps I can make them. Kyle, remember the chest hair!!!!!!! I don’t want to see it again at Chicago. | ||

| Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | Andy, Just my 2 cents but your "custom_glow111" with just a hint of gold pigment in the clear plastisol so the sparkles still show up well. So its kind of see through still. Anything with gold was my #1 seller in 2008. I bet that would look killer with those scales for pike adn musky!!! If you have that one (just clear with sparkles) and a few with a hint of gold at the MN show I will be buying a few from you for sure! Personally for me I like the curly tail models in a 4oz up to an 8oz size. | ||
