What would be the top 3 lures you would like to see demo'd poolside at the Chicago musky show? They could be new ones or old classics.

To add to this, I am doing the Pool Side Seminar at the Chicago Show on Saturday during Musky Hunter Day.

I have a list of lures that I am going to throw and show how I use them, but are there any lures out there that you guys would like to see me throw, how I use them, etc...?

Thanks! I would rather throw stuff that people want to see how I use them, instead of me showing people lures and techniques that they don't care about.

Wow Mike I don't think you can ask for any better input than that. Two votes for a bass lure, one for a bait that is almost entirely a straight retrieve bait in the kicken minnow and another vote for a technique not made for muskies that is also believed to be the hardest technique in fishing to perfect. What a line up! LOL

It will be hard to demonstrate a spoonplug, a bait that was designed to locate fish by structure trolling, in a pool demo. They were designed to run at the same depth at any speed based on line diameter and the size of the lure.

Tough crowd! For me, I've stuck to pretty much basic lures with straight retrieves. I have a weird issue with "if I can't feel it, how can it catch fish?" This is also probably why I don't seem to do to well the 1 - 3 times a year I get out. Beyond the basic bucktail, spinner bait, crank bait and top water, I don't have much technique. I will pull out a Manta or a Suick every now and again, but not my strong suit. A couple of lures that I am interested in seeing worked are the Bulldawg, Reef Hawg, Suick (tuning options, pulls, 8's) and other old school type gliders / jerks. This is probably stuff everyone else is tired of seeing, but I would find fascinating.

I think you should demonstrate some PFD's worn over full winter gear! I'm only half joking, I'd actually like to see whether it disturbs your casting, fig. 8, and it'd be a good public service announcement even though you'd probably not wear one yourself. I mean, everyone hears stories of tragedies like the missing guy on Mille Lacs.

anyway, ignore my goofy suggestion and show me how to work a Squirko

Mike, I think it would be intersting to see how you'd work a fish that is totally hot on say a bucktail into and around the figure 8 and what you do if it continues to fallow and not eat or if she eats. Then do the same thing if you had a lazy fish say 6 feet back, what would you do different and what not. How bout pick a double ten for this demo and have Steve record it and post it. I think that would be VERY valuable to the M first communtiy.

Thanks!

if they could only put fake weeds in the pool you could use lures that you like to use in weedy conditions,or rip through.
