Turkey Day tomorrow...hunting season in full swing...and Closing Day this weekend for Wisconsin...close to closing for Minnesota...

plenty of open water still be found out there, though and some places stay open all year round!

where are you headed to find the muskies?

Someone was shore fishing in Point this morning. Props to the dude!
Ice will limit where you can get a bait wet, yet there are places to cast and even launch.

I'll be in the metro, possibly mille lacs or the st. croix depending on access.

Breaking more ice to get out on Tonka. Plan on fishing Thurs-Sun. Launched in Wayzata yesterday and broke ice for 3/4 mile to open water...and...caught my biggest ever. It is gonna have to be real thick ice to stop me this weekend. One last weekend for skis' and then I will be cryogenically frozen until opener. See you in June!

Hey guys, I'm jealous of everyone that is able to fish this weekend! If anyone is looking for someone to fill a seat in the boat in central or northern Wisconsin on Saturday and/or Sunday, just let me know. Would love to get on the water before everything's frozen.

Good luck to everyone that gets out, whether it be fishing or hunting...be safe doing either.

Taking the family out in the morning; they'll want to fish perch and crappies - I'll probably be casting a bit.

I'll be trolling on Monona on Saturday. After fishing all day Tuesday and having all of the rods freeze up I am going to spend the last days dragging lines.

Out in the backyard stand with Sue some, then ice fishing if we can shoot a couple more Whitetails. Keith filled up during our weekend Nat Forest hunt, and I drew a big zero passing a few does waiting for the big boy. Saw him a couple times in the heavy cover, no shot.

Pointerpride and I will be hitting early ice tomorrow morning. Checked on ice conditions on a local lake and noticed people already on it so looks like were good to go. Can't wait to yell, TIP UP!

i just picked up a fresh bucket of nice 12-13" suckers...had to drive 50 miles round trip, but it was worth it to find some lively ones that were decent sized. plus, the nice weather re-opened some of the water on local lakes.
it's all coming together nicely for the final two days!

Yeah have you seen the weather forecast for closer in madison. I am planning on hittin up monona but it is supposed to be extremely nasty out on Sunday. I guess we are going to be going out tomorrow also, I just hope I don't have to drive 50 miles to find some good size suckers, hell if i have too I will catch some legal walleye and use them for bait.

I am in Florida! Caught and released 12 bass. Biggest is 8 lbs, 6.5 lbs, 6 lbs, two 5 lbs and several between 3 and 4 lbs. No 10 lbs! Better luck next time! I released two over 10 lbs last March! Nice weather here around 70 degrees and sunny! Wear sunglass all the time and now I look like a raccoon! Ha! Ha! Shoot that I have go back to Chicago tomorrow! Hope some open water next weekend in northern Illinois for musky fishing!

Lambeau you are one of the last people i would think of not knowing how to keep there suckers alive. It would suck to have those babies die after you drove 50 miles to get them and they probably were at least $5 a piece. Was dorn on midvale out of suckers or do they just have under 10 inchers?

Is everyone that is going out just planning on dragging suckers all day or is anyone planning on casting? I figure there is 2 days left in the season I might as well completely destroy my SSC3 since it already has parts from 3 different reels on it that were all added this year...

Dorn's on Midvale in Madison is DONE with big suckers (as of last week), but we do have some small ones left. They are not even close to 10" though.
