Posts: 7069 Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | First fo all a big thank you to both Okuma Fishing http://www.okumafishing.com for the great support for our photo contests we ran monthly during this season, as well as to all of you who entered the contests! We've decided instead of just a November and/or October contest to go to a blowout end of the year contest which will bring in photos from ALL of 2008! The only photos we are NOT taking as entrants into this contest are going to be those that have already been winners in one of the preceeding month's contests. However, we're adding an extra twist.....our esteemed judges (Mark Rodgers, Mike Winther, and myself) will be picking our TOP 10 entrants....which the users of MuskieFIRST will then vote on. This contest begins November 12th, with entries being taken until the 21st of November. Voting on the Top 10 will begin November 24th and will run until December 1st, when winner will be crowned. Again, all pics from 2008 (except previous months' winners) are eligble, enter as many different pics as you want! It must be a picture that you took (of someone/something else or a self-portait) or a picture that someone took of you. First prize will be an Okuma Technical Jacket....and who knows, if we get enough great entries we just might find some other prizes! Please make sure to check out the new Red Isis reel, the EvX line of rods and my personal favorite, the Induron reels. Thanks again to Okuma Fishing for their continued support of MuskieFIRST and our users! Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]()

Here is my wife's first muskie and a short story to go with it. We were headed back from South Dakota for a wedding and I happened to have my gear with me in the car (there was a lake near there that was stocked with muskie believe it or not). We stopped at a sporting goods store and my wife picked out a lucky lure for herself to use. When we got to the lake she stayed in the car and took a couple hour long nap while I washed lures. After awhile I went back and woke her up and she headed to the dock. Less than ten casts in she has a fish hooked. It put up a heck of a battle, but she managed to get the beast tamed. After a quick picture the brute was released to fight another day. Now she can't understand why I never catch fish, it only took her 10 casts. Go Figure. Note: The look on her face is a combonation of joy/fear because the giant flipped just as I snapped the picture. Attachments ---------------- ![]()

Location: Twin Cities | Here's some of my favorites, dogs are always so much fun! Fished at my buddies wedding, even caught something off the dock in the suit....I can't believe this year is almost done, incredible. Added my full size avatar too, favorite pic for me. My wife netted the fish and took the pic, first muskie she or my dogs saw up close. Not to mention the dogs tried eating it...wish they all looked that pretty, awesome markings! But you are a lucky man.

Posts: 415 Location: madison wisconsin | Nice pics Dan. Nice on on the eagle. If I saw a snake on my motor like that...... That would have scared me so bad, I'd be slipping on my own you know what!!! I hate snakes!! You're more of a man than I am!! Good pics everyone. One of my favorite threads on this site!!!

Posts: 476 Location: WI | Oh, I don't know if I am more a man than you are, Jamie, with that snake. Notice that the snake is leaving the boat....When it tried to climb into the boat there were screams that could be heard across a lake that should never be heard by another muskie fisherman! ![]() The eagle was cool...it was doing the "breast stroke" across Cass Lake. Got to shore and flew away after a few minutes.
