How do you guy's find these women that put up with your fishing.
I need to find a women that enjoys fishing as much as I do......Does anyone have a sister that likes to fish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finding a lady who loves to fish is NOT easy, but possible. I have the same problem you do, but have hunting tossed into the mix.

It is easy to overlook the 'fishing thing' in the winter. I would suggest looking for a lady in the open water period when you are seriously fishing, and if you make it through the season, she REALLY DOES understand.

Maybe.

Try www.match.com. Your profile states exactly what you want it to, and the ladies respond to what is there. The picture you put up should be of you holding a nice muskie, not a 'poser' shot that looks like a pic from a Sears underwear ad. I messed around with the service for awhile, and was amazed at the number of fishin' ladies out there. Just srtay away from the "I have a great sense of humor" line, everyone says that.[]

Ralph,
I know your boat. I constantly have to hear how my girlfriend feels she comes after fishing. If you are like me then I feel it's because we might be making the same mistake. I know mine is I keep on dating Italian girls. It makes things easier with the family, but not for fishing. I think I need one of those Polish ones who love to cook and clean and just smile all the time. Italian (and greek) require too much attention. Only problem is I love 'em...lol.

For now I just deny fishing coming first (cough cough), and keep my girlfriend and musky fishing on two opposite sides. Funny thing is, looking at your topic of the post I felt bad because I thought you lost a big fish, now I realized it's just a girlfriend...lol []

Hang tight dude...one will swim into your life when you least expect it!!! I'm so fortunate to have a nice looking smart woman that pretty much allows me to do whatever I want...I still can't believe it at times!! BUT...I try not to abuse me good fortune...I do some stuff around the house etc. to keep things smooth. One thing though...it is give + take + she knew when we got married that fishing/hunting were way up there + has adjusted well![:sun:]

First of all just concentrate on finding a GOOD woman! You both have to bend a little to make it work these days. I am lucky to have one of those rare women that lets me fish just about anytime I want and she also lets me carve baits in her living room. Now that's what I call a GOOD CATCH! Hang in there and I'm sure you will find your special lady. [:p]

PS She even bought me a new Thompson muzzeloader for Christmas!

Wish I could help you Ralph but both of my sisters are married and they don't care about fishing one bit! It must be tuff for the guys out there that have a passion for chasing the toothy critters and just can't seem to find a female in sight that will join him or at the VERY least, allow him to feed his need as often as possible without a complaint. Hmmm, just where might a musky hunter search for a single female that enjoys this crazy sport as much as him?? Thats the tricky part. If I think of something I'll let you know. There has to be a way to find a companion that truly enjoys the sport as much as myself. Oops, did I say myself? I meant yourself. Hey wait.... I am a single female and I can't find a man that loves fishing as much as I do either. Of course there are other requirements I have for a man but if he fishes for muskies thats a HUGE plus. 3 years ago a bf gave me the muskie illness and after we split up I am left to sit and suffer this disease without a means to get on the water until I either, A) buy a boat & new vehicle to tow it or B) find me a muskie fisherman of my own or C) convince myself I really hate to fish and that hasn't worked yet. Occassionally I lurk around Pewaukee lake with a pouty lip hoping a sweet, kind, musky man will feel sorry for me and ask me out! I do have my own gear even!! lol But seriously, I just wanted to let you know that its not easy on the female side to find someone that is a good match AND fishes for muskies. I guess the odds for us are a little better tho but I haven't given up hope and I won't! He's out there I just have to find the right bait. Nothing better then spending the day on the water with that special someone. Keep searching Ralph, she's out there too! I have faith. [;)]

No no no on the bisexual deal. Sorry to burst someones fantasy. Bf in this case meant boyfriend. I should have clarified that seeing this is the internet and all. You guys can be bad!
I can only hope that is the case Mike cuz "C" hasn't worked yet anyway. It's in my blood and there is no cure.

Hey Slamr! I've been lurking around here and there. Laying low feeling sorry for myself not getting out there fishin.[:blackeye:]
This board is a double edged sword for me. I LOVE reading it but then hearing about everyone else fishing and having fun makes me more bummed I can't be out there too! Grrrr! It just isn't fair! But alas, I can't stay away from this site if my life depended on it. Always something to learn and also a good laugh now and again. Never fear I'm always close by. [;)]
Behave now Slamr!

Cindi

ps. Mike, your wife/best friend is one lucky girl! You go shopping too? Ohmygosh I could only be so lucky to find someone like that! I am envious to say the least! Relationships are certainly a 50/50 deal and doing things for each other brings rewards to both sides. Congrats to you both for having that level of committment to each other. [:)]

Ralph, get used to it. I think my ex must have sprayed me with chick repellent. It does give me time to fish.

Hey, you could always put a dress on slamr![]

Ralph-

Just took my girl out for her first ever fishing trip. Took her too Shabbona and she loved it, she even nailed a nice 11in crappie. Starting her out on the push buttons, soon she will be casting for skies. Best part, she likes to read, so she can sit back on the rig and read all she wants. There are plenty of good ones, keep searchin! All SLAMR needs is the dress, he has the emotional part down.

Ralph,

I've got a gal for you to meet. She's one of my wive's best friends and is a big fan of both camping and fishing. She's very cool, she's pretty, and she's a lot of fun to be around. She's in her mid 40's and has some older kids. (Not sure about your age or situation.) Distance may be a problem, she's in southwestern MI, but she visits us in Iron Mountain a couple times a year.

Debbie is her name and she'll very easliy tolerate a fishing nut like you. I'll ask my wife to attach her picture to a post so you can see her. How old are you?

Ranger,

Are you trying to "SUCK UP" knowing that Saturday is right around the corner!!!!!!!! []

Team "SLIME" is ready, by the way I will be 38 in two months. Never thought this post would get so much attention.....I was just venting a little!!!![:blackeye:]

Hey Ralph,

Big bag of hooey to the suck up stuff. Naw, I'm just trying to maintain the diversion as we approach Match Day. You'll be a jello-ed bowl of jangled nerves by Saturday, my friend.

I say "maintain" because this little match-maker schitk is the second part of my devious strategy. You won't beeelieve the first part of my strategy, it's so huge, and it's working so well. OK, I'll tell you. Are you sitting down? Ready?

I got your girlfriend to leave you!! And you thought it was you. Ha!

Now you know what you're up against.

Heya Ralph,

Did I see an offer to fish Pewaukee?? C'mon now don't tease me. I haven't been on the water since last October when I was down in Kentucky with Tony Grant and David Christian. I'm itching bad and it isn't pretty lemme tell you. If you are ever in the neighborhood and need someone to occupy space on your boat, sign me up! I'll gladly bring lunch and sodas.
By the way, I'll be 39 in 2 months. lol

I can vouch for the 50/50 split. I introduced her to fishing and last winter, I put the suit and tie on and we went downtown Chicago to see the Joffrey Ballet. It was really cool 'cause she introduced me to something new and interesting and I got her to enjoy wetting a line.[]

On May 3, 2002 ,I got meself hitched to the catch of a life time. Doris likes to fish, hunt, and be in the outdoors as much as I do. Every spring we hunt mushrooms and bass fish. Come summer , it's catfishing at night and some bass fishing in the afternoon ( she loves to catch smallmouths on top with Tiny Torpedos). When Aug. gets here , our time will be spent going "Gin Senging" , that's right , we dig the stuff. Keeps us in the woods most of our free time right on thru till late Sept. If I could just get her to try Musky fishing and get one to follow her bait, I'm sure she would love it, but she said the tackle and lures are too heavy for her to handle.
Oh well, she ain't perfect, but she's good enough for me and I think I'm about as lucky as a man could be.
Keep looking , their out there, you just have to use the right bait!!

Todd,

Just yesterday I was thinking to myself, where are all the older, overweight, poor men with family problems?? I just had no clue where to find one and low and behold you posted! This must be fate!! Actually my only requirement in a man is a boat and towing vehicle so you are all set. What more does a woman need then that from a man anyway?? Oh wait.. there is one other thing. He has to be able to cook. Can you cook? If not we can enroll you in some cooking classes, thats no big deal. I'm sure you won't mind taking time off from fishing for some cooking classes. That would be great if you could do that! Whatdya think? [;)]

Sponge -

Debbie is indeed the Little Debbie of snack cake fame. But, she developed a real liking for those nifty little snacks and she's not "Little" Debbie any more. Now she goes by the name of "Hefty Deb" and she's a bouncer at a lesbian biker bar located near the Detroit Metro Airport.

Ya just never know how folks will turn out.
