| I just learned that Jason Schillinger's (Reef Hawg) father, Don, was seriously injured in an automobile accident early this morning. The Schillinger Family will be in my prayers tonight, please keep them in yours. http://www.waow.com/global/story.asp?s=8778900 Edited by Anonymous 8/2/2008 9:42 PM | |||

Posts: 2754 Location: Mauston, Wisconsin | 'Just a small update from an reliable source': Don and his girlfriend were both wearing their seatbelts. Don was found outside of the vehicle because he was trying to crawl around to get her freed. He ended up passing out or whatever due to the broken neck. Jason- Once again our prayers are with your Dad and your family in this difficult time. I'm sure he's going to be devastated by her loss when he hears about it. God Bless Al Edited by ESOX Maniac 8/3/2008 6:51 AM

Posts: 3518 Location: north central wisconsin | Hey, just saw this on my way out to see dad. Thanks so much for the support. I've seen witnessed this type of outpouring here before, and it is comforting on the other end. Just as an update, no change from yesterday is good news I guess, and dad has mobility in his arms and legs. The doc told us that he was lucky to not sustain serious spinal cord damage due to the broken neck. Just pulling for him and mostly the family of his girlfriend of 15 years. Lastly, one of the first things out of the mouth of nurse who called to tell me about the accident was that dad(as a vietnam vet) was worried about my trip to guide at Operation Muskie. I called the two vets that I was going to take with me to pre fish for a couple days out of Youngs Bay and they were so understanding. Then, Dick Pearson called about an hour ago from Walsh's to wish the best from up there, and to reassure me that they had things coverred and not to worry. I cannot tell you in words how much that means, and how much of a weight he lifted. That group at Walsh's is a special bunch.

Posts: 159 Location: NYC (and many weeks in MN during summer) | Jason, I don't know you, but regardless, you and your family/loved ones are in my thoughts and prayers in the wake of such horrifying news. I hope your dad makes a full recovery, quickly. Stuff like this should give us a moment to pause, reflect and appreciate life and how lucky we all are and how fragile life really is. Randy
