Fished a couple hours later Saturday morning with Cowboyhannah with no luck but then spent majority of the day today fishing with only one 30 inch fish or so and one other follow. The weekend sure didn't treat me well but oh well, just glad to be on the water and in the Tuffy!

Spent about 5 hours on the water yesterday and got a 30 inch pike. Today fished for 3 hours with no action. My hands and forearms are sore from casting. ha!

Hit the water with Sue Saturday for about an hour and a half, started the 40 up, and it bogged down, wouldn't open up. Looks like I lost a fuel pump. Spent most of the day today eliminating everything easy, then gave up and went to work breaking a back-up rig out of storage for Tuesday night Muskie League. Missing a front sonar, but that won't be a big issue on the Moen. Gotta get her on the water tomorrow to clear out the motor, hasn't been run since last summer.

The 40 will be fixed by the time I get back from the PWT this next week, I hope...X190 is ordered.

Not a thing on Saturday from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm. Sunday got a mid 30's fish at 11:30 am, had another fish on at 11:45 am. First fish could not have been closer to the shore without being on land. Second fish was in weeds/rocks 100 yards off shore in about 2 feet of water.

Had a buddy fishing on another lake caught a 45" fish on Saturday, early morning. That fish was in the thick cover, 1-3 foot of water.

Pointer and I fished for a few hours on Saturday. I think we had about 20 follows but couldn't get a fish to commit. Gliders were the only lures that moved fish - they just didn't move them eagerly enough I guess. We had nearly all of our action in the first couple hours then it just died for no apparent reason. The reservoir is nearly full now and the number of good fish holding places countless; fun stuff.

Fished the green bass opener, and was once again reminded that I need to chase those fish more often.  Spectacular!  106 green bass from the same ~150 acre public metro lake.  Only ~6 were under 13".  We counted every fish.  Senkos, jerk shads, and power slugs over weed flats.  We have about a week left of excellent fishing before the milfoil and curly leaf tops out.

spent sunday on the water with agrimm until we got knocked off with the grand-daddy of them all hail storm ... yowza!!! ... andy had a big fish hooked and we just couldn't hang on long enough ... we did the run around the boat dance with her so i'm sure we were entertaining anyway ... moved about 5 others that day and then scored twin 41's ... andy's out there today again and i shot an abysmal 47 on the front but recovered nicely with a 40 on the back this afternoon. will be interesting to see how he did today ... we got a location and a pattern down pretty well and had a great time.

I caught a 31" on friday fishing for bass. Then had to return back to the dock when the fuel pump gave up the ghost. Had a 30" or so nibble at a rapala on a figure 8 off of the dock yesterday.

Fished for a few hours on Saturday and Sunday and one follow so I packed up the musky gear and went panfishing with my father in law. 20 crappies, 4 perch, and 5 gills in 5 hours made for a nice fish fry for the families.

I spent a great weekend muskie fishing with my son, Saturday & Sunday. It was a great time.
If we found cabbage we found fish, "nobody" seemed to be home anywhere else in any other kind of cover.
We caught 37 northerns, 3 undersized muskies, and a 16" smallmouth bass. We saw 13 follows up to 40", but couldn't get any takers. 6" Slammer Cranks were the ticket.
We got caught in a hail storm on Sunday night with hail upto 1/2". Can you say, "ouch, ouch, ouch, OUCH.....that one was bigger than the rest!
One of the other father son combo's caught three smallmouth, with the biggest 23"!
I think those type of outings only have 20 seconds per minute, as the time flies by!

Fishing overall has been very inconsistant for us. The largemouth fishing remains fast and furious, as well as some great bluegill/crappie action (love those fillets!). Smallmouth and walleyes are up and down, the smallies slid deep on us and a little tougher to contact with any regularity.

Mark caught a nice 40" muskie on Friday, then an upper 30's on Saturday. The 40 was shallow, the other on a deep hump. The water is still darn cold. Watched several muskies spawning on Friday which was pretty cool. Heading out early tomorrow to film with Tanner Wildes and Jason Hammernick for 3 days chasing river muskies in Western Wisconsin. Having a lot of fun will be a slam dunk, and hopefully the river fish are a little more cooperative then their lake dwelling cousins.

Was up in Boulder Junction on a numbers lake and managed 9 fish total for the weekend....4 fish on Saturday and 5 on Sunday before the front moved in. All fish were small with the largest being a fat 32 inch hybrid. All the others were skinny and beat up from spawn, mostly males. All in all, a good opener, but now it's time for bigger fish.

As Sled stated -we created our action on the water and in the boat, but it wasn't until MaNature pelted us with golf balls that the real fun began.

Muskymaj, K-bob, and myself got out Saturday. I caught one undersize on a Curley Sue, and 2 follows. Took my buddy Matt out Yesterday trolling and all we could manage was two pike. The seas were angry both days.

We moved a bunch of fish over the weekend, probably around ten each day, but the only one that ate was a little dink.

Weed growth is way behind, and most of the fish were way shallow. It's been so long since I've had to fish an actual spring pattern I think I forgot how!

Got out for a while on Sunday. Never Saw a fish, then got chased off the water by a storm. Fished Monday for a few hours before and during the cold front moving in and scratched on fish. Came a little past the deep edge of cabbage in around 11 feet of water on a Depthraider. Would have liked to have gotten a measurement, but that fish took off so fast when it hit the water I lost my grip. No delayed mortality on that one, lol. I'm thinking 38ish...?

Fished hard most of the weekend with little to show. I should have had an awesome opener. I lost 4 fish from roughly 30 inches to 40 inches. 3 of those fish ate the new 6 inch slammer. So it was a bitter sweet opener for me. At least we were on fish. All fish were in deeper water, on natural shorelines. My boat partner did manage to put a 28 incher in the boat, he too lost several fish.

Jason,
St. Croix, Chippewa or Apple? Or one of the many other rivers not mentioned?
Hope the action makes it on a Badfish video!

Spent as much time fishing total this weekend as I usually do for about a half day due to spending time with the family. The time I did spend musky fishing was about the norm for the opener. Boated a 3 footer or so, missed a 41-42, and had several follows including two fish in the 46-48" range. One was still full of spawn, and she was very close to wrestling with my Cranky Penetrator!

My pattern wasn't too much different than Sleds and AGrimm's. In fact I am willing to bet we were on the same water. but at different times. Cabbage and mat weed is where I found almost all fish but the largest. She was on a 12-14' break dropping to deep water. 6" H2O hardheads were the ticket for me. Saw a lot of guys running really shallow. I don't know how they did, but I spent most of my time in 8-15' of water. Most of it was in over 10' of water.

Water temps not much different than other openers. Perch/Sucker based lakes were 56-58°, and the deep/clear lakes were as cold as 50°.
