Posts: 42 | Induron 250LX - release button is sticking. Only way to get it to release is to move/spin the handle to a certain position and it frees up the release button. Any suggestions on fixing this before I send it out ? I've emailed Okuma and I'm waiting for their response. Thanks in advance !

Posts: 42 | Thanks I'll try that. Here is a pic of the reel taken apart (not my reel). Edited by BassMiesterNJ 5/9/2008 10:36 AM Attachments ---------------- oku2.jpg (61KB - 118 downloads)

Posts: 3242 Location: Racine, Wi | I had a similar issue last year after I oiled the real. If you take off the right side plate, you'll see a pin that goes from the thumbar and into the side plate. Make sure that is aligned properly. That's all it took on mine and it's been good to go since. That might not be the problem, but it's a simple check.

I did remove the side plate to make sure everything was aligned with the thumbar.... unfortunately the problem seems to be attributed to something on the inside of the side plate compartment because I can simulate the problem with the side plate off the reel and the thumbar out of the equation.... I'm going to open the side plate compartment completely later on today to see if I can find anything obvious. Edited by BassMiesterNJ 5/9/2008 12:09 PM

| i had a similar problem with the corvalus. are you sure everything is lining up properly???? on my old reel if i had the side off the thumb bar would fall to the "open" position. i would have to put it together upside down because things werent lining up. you might wanna give it another once over. if not i would heavily clean any parts involved in releasing the thumbar | |||

Posts: 8842 | I've never had an Okuma apart, but a few of my Abu's had that problem. It was a simple fix: Remove the clutch arm, clean it, clean the side plate, and put a little oil (not grease) in all the places where the clutch arm assembly touches the side plate. If you've used the reel a lot you will see friction marks everywhere they rub together -- lots of crud and grease and stuff built up between there on my Abu's.
