There has been some good fish taken this year that I know of, 46,45.5,44,41 by people that I know.

Twitching Slammers and glide baits like Undertakers have been good.

Water temps were climbing early in the week, but its been a cold wind off Lake Michigan so far and will continue into this weekend.

There should be some fish caught in the Pewaukee Classic this weekend My pre tourney forcast for the amount of 34" plus fish is..........8

Friday the winds calmed down late afternoon. Picked up a 31" mid afternoon on a Slammer. Caught a 28" Pike that hit a Undertaker, and had one low 40" fish show interest on the same bait.

The east end was very muddy thanks to the wind. Heard of one other guy who boated a 40" yeasterday afternoon as well.

good luck all

Pewaukee last night for 2 hours. My youngest had a follow on an Undertaker, which hit during the figure 8. Lots of water splashing, but no fish in the boat...exciting though. I am heading back out this afternoon, I see a large, orange, warm circle in the sky, not sure what it is, but it's really bright out there...

The fish seem to be scattered, there is no set pattern from day to day. Wednesday I boated a 37 and a 45.5 casting, friday I put three fish in the boat trolling, a 32 and a 35.5 inch muskie with a bonus pike. Last night(tuesdat)I cought a 33 inch trolling but know of 3 others cought casting. We need some sun and warmer weather so the lake can get back to normal. Weed growth has been slow, fishing preasure has been slow also. Just have to put your time in. Good luck to all !!

Tuesday afternoon I caught a 37" very shallow , and later had a nice fish up 3 different times within an hour. This fish had a quarter sized white spot on it's snout that made it easy to recognize. the second time it came in on an Undertaker and it was an awesome sight to see this graceful fish several inches behind changing directions along with the bait. She opened up once and I thought she was going to eat, but no strike.

Today I caught a beautiful 30" with dark stripes in 9' of water. Nothing shallow today...lots of wind.

Also had 3 nice sized Largemouth, but when you think it's a Muskie, any size Bass is a disappointment.

Good luck all!

The fishing is starting to pick up. There was 4 nice fish caught tuesday night along with big o's 37inch,a 41 inch being the biggest. Wednesday was very windy, the fish were moving. Went out to check on a new spot before guiding and a nice fat 41.5 inch muskie let me hold her for a few great pictures before releasing her back to fight another day. Guided from 4:00 to 8:30pm with 4 follows and no fish for pictures but tomarrow is another day. Good luck, see you on the water!!!

Went out Friday 5-17, Sunday 5-19, and today. The weather today was a big change from the weekend, and it was nice to fish without a winter coat on...

...didn't see one Muskie all three days.

Tried slow small Bucktail, 5" and 7" Slammer, and slow glide baits. very shallow, 1-2', and the 5-8' depths as well. Should I be deeper this time of year? or is this a tuff time of year for seeing fish?

Thanks all;

Pewaukee has had some bad reports...with mixed up weather off Lake Michgan its either hot or cold....no middle ground.

I fished friday night...saw Zippo!!

Now that I only fish the lake maybe two times a week. I fish not for numbers,,but for hogs. So I expect not to see as much. But friends of mine are also not seeing fish.

Water temps were 65, but Sunday was cold and today was cold and rainy. I bet we lost some temps.[;)]

Jason, how do you cope with all of the pleasure boaters?[:(]

Subject: Pewaukee report

Tuffy,

There are time frames you will learn when pleasure boaters are not using the lake. Example, Packer Sundays, early morning, late evening...and believe it or not...morning and afternoon of the 4th of July.

But the real thing to remember about this pond is that when the fish turn on, it really does not matter if the lake has traffic on it. Last year when I was guiding I had a four muskie day from 1pm to 5pm and 4 nice pike to bonus during extremely high Saturday afternoon traffic. When Pewaukee fish feed, they really care less.

Traffic is a constant that never changes and they are used to it for the most part. You still have to have the right weather and things have to click, but to catch muskies at 12 noon during high boat traffic on topwater..was something that happend in my boat.[;)]

Traffic only bothers me and my boat control when the pleasure boaters drive 20ft away, the fish could care less. They are feeding machines and nothing tells them not to feed because they see a jet ski.[]

Jason,
I am at a loss as to what to use on Pewaukee. Are there any fish in there? We fished 6 hours Saturday morning into aftermoon and didn't see a fish. Tried bucktails, crank baits, jerkbaits, even tried jigging in deeper water. I am ready to give up on this lake but I can't seem to yet. Any suggestions?[:knockout:]

Mattitude there is plenty of skies in my pond, there just not moving real good yet. See my weekly fishing REPORTS to see if there snapping or if the fishing is slow for all of us, 2 to 5 follows has been average for a after work outing. I have a network of a lot of anglers that share info and reports every day. It helps to know if its just you or slow for everyone. The last two times out I had hooks in fish but never made it to the net, thats fishing. Check out my web site MIKEKOEPP.COM.for info on Pewaukee Lake and this years fish pictures on the PHOTOS link. Good luck to all!!!

I have been out 4 times in seven days and have had a lot of follows. Every follow has come from five docks. I was out tuesday and saw 5 fish. All fish either followed a slammer golden shiner or a top raider.I saw several people fishing the same place but they were fishing out side of where I was seeing fish. I was out in a tracker with my father so those of you saw my there should know where those few peirs are because I stayed on that spot all day.

The fish are starting to move, water temps are in the 70's. The bass are almost done spawning, bluegills are in thick as can be and the muskies are munchin them up. Guided for walleyes last night and released a bluegill only to live for a few more seconds before a muskie smacked it at boatside. Don't miss out on the action packed fishing because it won't last with all the recrational boating going on, the fish will move off the weed beds to open water before long. The lake has been a zoo on the weekends. See my weekly updated fishing report on my web site.
