give you a pink tiger Super Humper for valentines day? The one you've wanted since early last season? Mine did, that's musky love, baby.

She also picked out her own colors and blades for a bucktail she wants done. I was pretty impressed. Thanks sweetie!!!!!!

I got 2 fishing videos.....one on Muskies and one on Pike, both by In-Fisherman. We watched the Pike one last night and are heading up to watch the Muskie one here shortly.
Yes, we are blessed.......

It is no wonder why we never got out fishing this year.

Looks like I am far to ugly to fish in your boat.

That's a great post, Marc. It seems you've caught a keeper. My Valentine let's me fish as much as I can stand and without complaint; I'm blessed to have a keeper, too. Several times as a surprise, she's called from Thorne Bros. and said, "I'm at Thorne Brothers right now, do you need anything?" The first time it happened I nearly dropped the phone, I was so shocked. The next time, however, I maintained my composure and gave her a long list

I got musky lures for wedding gifts last year, but it doesn't look like i'm ever going to live it down; at least not until she starts musky fishing!

Ive received a few musky gifts from my GF and she is very understanding of my want/need to be on the water as much as possible. We've come back to the Midwest for vacation a few times and she hasn't complained one bit when I've ditched out on her plans to meet up and fish with the fellas. Even got her out in the boat to do some fishing in some brutal conditions with Mikie while we were in Ohio for the OSU-WI football game in November. She says that she will go fishing with me but she has no interest in touching anything that comes into the boat...looks like I'm gonna have to work on that a bit with her. Even if she doesn't want to fish much, I'm lucky that she understands and encourages my passion which is a big part of the battle. I consider myself very luck to have found a winner and I wouldn't trade her for the world. After all, it takes some of the fun out of it if you don't have anyone to share your accomplishments with and to vent your frustrations to. Heck, I didn't think that I was going to make it back for a few trips due to her friends getting married and she gave me the "OK" to miss the ceremonies as long as I make it to the reception at some point.

I take Hulbert's post as an insult to all women who enjoy the outdoors, my wife included. My wife was fishing long befor Hulbert was born and worked with those of us that got muskies started in Indiana, the place where Hulbert got his start. Just goes to show you; Some people are in it for themselves more than the sport.

wow....here I thought my comments were about me....but it seems others take it like I was talking to them personally.

The day there is a woman out there that can put up with me on the water 200 days a year, going to Mn for the summer, doing sport shows and seminars during the winter time, etc...then maybe I'll change my mind.

My comments have nothing to do with "being in it for myself not the sport"...my comment has everything to do with, If I don't work, I dont' get paid. So do you want to take a 50% pay cut in your life? I would assume not.

I was talking about me, nobody else.

hmmmpph. i went and got myself deleted...

as a husband and a father of a daughter, there's always a place in my boat for fisher-women. fishing isn't about gender.

aside from the actual upside of enjoying spending time outdoors with your family, it can actually pay dividends in certain ways for time on the water: boat ride for them, extra trolling lines for me...

I'm one of the lucky ones who actually has a girlfriend who loves fishing, would go to any show anywhere, and even loves to hunt. My absolute best friend is also my wife. Sue's pretty cool. So that chick in my boat is a cool deal anytime, and I fish now more than I have in a very long time.

I'm in the same "boat" as Steve, if you'll pardon the pun. Life is good!

Hey, Mike....you're entitled to your opinion. And my opinion is that the young lady you were with a year ago at the Musky Show near Chicago was worth a day or 2 off, if you couldn't convince her to fish with you. And my wife agreed that you did pretty good for yourself with that "catch"!

No musky baits, but mine probably kept me out of jail and/or kept me from dying from an over indulgence of El Jimador, the number one selling tequila in Mexico....not sure if that is a good thing...

Mine gave me the green light for a week on Vermillion!!! Something I did not expect now that the little one has arrived. Guess she is sick of me since my 3 weeks of paternity leave.

I think girls get in the way of fishing.. pff they just want to tag along always and then they just want to lay around in their bikinis and tan.... You guys have no idea how many hot follows i have messed up or just totally missed because of that!!!

My advice... wait for a rainy day to take them! lol
