Posts: 2378 | Losing the white dot on the head of the Weagle is something I did right from the start when I took over the bait. I thought it just ruined a nice looking paint job and didn't really serve alot of purpose. I also always thought it was pretty easy to tell the difference between the Weagle and the Wabull based on the weight and the nose screw eye. I am learning that may not be the case. Over the years, I have been asked so many times why I don't do it anymore that I am actually considering bringing the dot back. What say you? Yes, No, I don't care (I'm sure there are plenty that don't)

Posts: 2687 Location: Hayward, WI | I also voted who cares. The dot would be nice for visibility. However, I have a black Weagle - probably the hardest to see, and I don't have a hard time knowing where it is. I see where you are coming from about the looks, but it wouldn't bother me. I guess a dot or not wouldn't make me buy or not buy a new Weagle. curleytail

Posts: 4080 Location: Elko - Lake Vermilion | I like the idea of a white glow in the dark dot. I can tell the difference in weight between the two baits as I have about 10 Weagles and only 4 Wabulls... I do like the baby Wabulls action. Jerome

Posts: 1764 Location: Ogden, Ut | I think instead of a dot you should carve a little fez and glue that on them, or maybe a pith helmet. You see, I care deeply, just not for the choices you came up with! S.

White dot would be excellent and a glow white dot would be even better. I have a hard time keeping an eye on my weagles in the dark (I know they make a lot of commotion and I can get a general location from the sound alone) but a small glow dot or stripe might be nice.

Posts: 120 | Id say a dot 1/2 white & 1/2 green with some blue scales I think something would help with the lure type ID. the white dot on the head seems simple but it's a total pain, white has the most overspray and can kill a nice paint job in a hurry. Mabey all Weagles have white eyes.. Keith

I thought it just ruined a nice looking paint job and didn't really serve alot of purpose.) Being a guy with limit vision, I like the white dot. Actually I paint (or reflective tape) a white stripe down the backs of many of my jerk or surface baits if they are dark in color. Action is more important than a "nice looking paint job" Many of my surface baits are just plain white and I do fine with them.

Bought a baby WEAGLE from one of the musky shops online and the shop employee sent me a baby Wabul. So I guess this confusion happens fronm time to time.

Posts: 214 Location: Central Iowa | I like the white dot as well because it lets you pick up the bait quickly if you look away for a second and then look back at it, especially in low light conditions.

Posts: 3240 Location: Racine, Wi | I concur Will!!! I think the white dot also gave it some identity as well to help it stick out from the competition and copies. If someone was looking for a weagle, but saw a widowmaker and didn't know the differences, they may chose the non swooshy one. I know, it's small, but every little bit helps.
