congratulations on your catch! It's a shame noone was with you, but at least the camera was there for you. I'm curious what you did immediately afterwards! I mean, I would get off the water immediately and call my best buddies and tell them all about it, the fight, landing it, videotaping it, releasing it, and the high it gave you!!

I don't think even your mother would believe it was 57.5 inches, but for the video!! Just imagine how bittersweet catching a beast like that and not having at least some picture, not just to give proof to the naysayers- but to have a way of remembering it visually forever!

Mike, the one who knows is the most important. THE GUY WHO CAUGHT IT!!!

He can say he got a 57.5 and who realy cares who believes him. He did catch it and he measured it. Congrats on a slob. Very cool!!!

Agreed! Nothing beats sharing a nice fish photo with friends, though! In this case, a video!

Great video and sweet catch, when I caught my first 50" in November I said the very same thing "I wish there was someone with me" Just to share the moment really. I had to stop fishing because I was shaking so bad and couldn't wait to get the photos developed.
Was it easy to net by yourself? I mean 57 .5"- thats alot of musky.

The way you were fidgeting around trying to find a place to sit within the camera's view.....thought for sure you were going to drop it or take a header yourself.

Nice work on getting some footage, and on hanging onto her when she got randy. Nearly 5' of dead weight, limp, slimy fish is hard to hang onto when your nerves are jumpin.

What a dandy.

Awesome! I love the scream!!! I caught a 50 alone last September and didn't get any pictures or anything. You lucked out with the video. Good job on not dropping the fish when it was shaking!

Cool video...and not even a need to edit any %&$#@^%& words. I would have needed some serious editing!! LOL

I popped a 51 last year solo and after she paddled away, I just sat there dumb founded for a while in silence!

Glad to see you other fellas didn't crusify him for taking the time to get the camera and leaving it on the bottom of the boat (which is what it looked like he might have done). I was just waiting for somebody to chime in, "Dude....you should have put that girl back immediately, you might have just killed that fish."

I would have done the same thing....although my dumb ass would have left the camera at the dock and just as I was pulling away, wonder if I should get it. I'd then say those words we've all said a few times, "Ah screw it."

Congrats, beautiful fish...let's hope she makes lots of babies!! I am also surprised he didn't swear......I would have had more bleeps than I can imagine....I would have probably made love to it!! Wait a minute....did I just write that out loud? Uh guys....guys....I was only kidding!!!

I don't think at that point that I would even remember I HAD a camera, or even what I was supposed to do with it. Besides I'd be shakin so bad I'd probably be unable to grab the fish out of the net!

Great fish, man!
