This is destined to be one of just a few remaining weekends on the water for many with ice coming in the next couple weeks....unless the weather goes all El Nino again or something. I'm on Pelican with lambeau and Norm some this weekend if they are willing to put up with me, maybe try for a couple big 'eyes at dark, too. Winds look bad for the deer stand anyway.

Where are you headed?

Getting deer stands prepared Friday or Saturday for sure. Then fishing the rest of the time. Hopefully even Sunday a bit. Oh why does this time of year have to end!

Heading to a few smaller Vilas Co. deep clear lakes with hopes of finding a few red blobs on the sonar during the day and netting a few cisco burgers at night.

Leave for a week to Washington and Oregon for work. Hope to stick a salmon/steelhead or two next Saturday, working long days until then. Come home next Sunday mid morning and hope to kill a deer in the afternoon. Hopefully the stars line up for me.

I learned yesterday that the area I used to deer hunt has been logged off and the area adjacent to it sold. So pretty good chance my rifle hunting days might be over with for a while. The whole dynamic on public land has changed to the point of making it quite unappealing to me anymore..

That being said, I think I'm going to get the big boat back out again and fish until season closes or ices up.

But this weekend...I will be right here.

Going to try to sneak out for a while Friday. I think Saturday is a hockey day for the kids, but maybe get out Sunday for a while in the afternoon.

Going to Green Bay Saturday. One last try for this year up there. I just can't seem to figure that place out. If I don't figure anything out on Saturday I,m going to head down to Pewaukee on Sunday and drag some suckers around.

I'll be up camping on some Price Countylakes chasing some muskies as my buddy finally shot a buck bowhunting and I don't have to fish solo until rifle season starts. Hopefully we'll catch a few more like last time, but also get the ones we missed on suckers as well. Should be some nice days to fish and nights to camp.
Good Luck to everyone that gets out....let's see some big ones posted after the weekend!!!

Lake Wausau----maybe cast a few of the proven fall spots up by shore while hanging a swimmer or two and then fire up the T-8 for some trolling action while sipping coffee...then back to casting....trolling....casting...

Off to Little Bay De Noc for some night time Walleye action. If we can keep the planer boards from turning into mini iceburgs and sinking it should be a good time. This is my first trip this year for something other than ski's.
