Steve (or anyone) can you give us a little hint as to what this new forum will be about? Besides the obvious!!

I sure hope we (you) don't get alot of people getting down on someone shooting a basket rack 6, or the infamous great "bait de-bait", etc., etc.,

It's on the way. We are in the process of adding a couple servers to handle the load for all three new OutdoorsFIRST websites.

WhitetailFirst, RabbitFirst, and WoodCockFirst. Although WoodCock First will probably show up as Wood****First.

No way that deer is a 150 class, look at the way the shooter is holding his head closer to the camera, it really distorts the size relationship. Also did you get a girth measurement on those bases? 3-1/2" at best....I'm not saying it is not a nice buck, but 150 class? Hhahahahahaha...I couldn't resist. DANDY BUCK! Congratulations... I leave for MO on Thursday and am counting the minutes!

Wade, bases are over 6-inch. 24 plus inch beams. Very few deductuctions. Got two guys who score and the guy who caped it told me it will go 150 easy. Pictures do not do it justice. The mass and symetry will drive up the score. One guy that is a trophy freak told me it might go into the upper 150's or higher, he guesed 165. I don't care too much about all that score crap. I am happy with the chance to stick a brute. If its 140 or 160 I wills till look at it with the same respect.

Thanks for the chance to hunt on this new land Beaver. I am sure these bucks have the same genetics. I wish I could have stuck that bigger one, what a monster. Get your back in shape and come out and take a stand next year with me.

I will try to get a better picture that will show the rack better. Too much to do now......

Mike, Wade was 'making fun' of all the folks who immediately call a real 54" muskie 50, or 48, Me thinks. Tongue firmly in cheek.

here's a couple recent pics.

the first is my niece, who shot her first deer (a healthy doe) during this year's youth hunt. she got this doe within 4 hours of completing her hunter education course. that's the right way to start!

the second is my brother's father-in-law, who got this nice 10pt muley a couple days ago on a trip to Colorado.

Mike...nice buck! I agree on the "inches" thing. I'd rather take a heavy buck with good mass (love mass on a rack) that didn't score very high over a clean buck that scores big...either way, they are all fun and a trophy has it's own meaning to each individual.
I've let a few small ones pass, but really havn't seen much to speak of. Leaving tomorrow afternoon for a long weekend up near Lake Superior...gotta love the big woods.

This past weekend, my one buddy that hunts with me had one heck of chill run through him, when a "big and dark bodied" critter started coming through the woods, then on top of that big critter, there was a rack...yep, a young bull moose came wandering out from the swamp, looked around a bit and wandered back into the swamp (as in swamp donkey) Pretty cool!!!!!!!

Keith had a great evening too. He saw 4 bucks, two were shooters for him, but none gave him what he wanted for a clean shot. All were chasing does around in a little swamp he's set up for his bow stand this year.

Me? I missed. Shot high over a yearling buck, got mad, and shot the next deer I saw to fill my Herd Control tag. Only an hour in the stand doesn't get it, I guess...

I shot my first ever deer with a bow the other night at 6 yards...a nice doe to get the jitters out...have 4 days off starting tomorrow and the rut is on...hopefully I bag my first ever buck...those 2-Blade rage broadhead lay the hammer down...my doe maybe went 20 yards before she pilled up...

Mike , NICE buck !!! I screwed the pooch in S.E. Minnesota last weekend !!! Low light shooting up hill through the woods at 80 yards .. pulled the trigger and all I saw was fire , then a big limb fall between me and a monster buck !! Oh well , just hope he makes it through til next year !!! Got to watch 2 monsters fighting for about 5 or 6 minutes !!! Man what a battle , first time I've seen 2 big bucks fighting .. they're just lucky my 12 guage can't shoot 350 yards !! Fun to watch though !! Our group had 1 nice 10 pt. and a huge 11 pointer with a couple small bucks to boot !!! Wish I could've stayed all week to try at the one that got away !!

Forgot to add this ... pretty sure that buck will go 150 if not a little better . I have a 8pt. that scored 146 but not as heavy , so that one should go 150 !! NICE DEER !! Lets see some more big buck pics !!! I'll try to get one up of the one my cousin shot last weekend .

OMG, the bucks are chasing like crazy. I just had to slam on my brakes for a buck running a doe across Carmichael Road in Hudson at noon. Not exactly a rural area. I think I'm going to call in sick for the rest of the afternoon and get on a stand.
