Posts: 40 Location: Rhinelander, Wi | Just curious as to what the difference might be between a Weagle and a Giant Jackpot. It seems that alot of people on here throw a weagle. Bill

Posts: 32886 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The Weagle runs lower in the water and makes a completely different sound. I can work a Weagle faster and keep it in the water, and it SEEMS I get more hook ups.

Posts: 1316 Location: Madison, WI | Weagle 3 hooks, jackpot 2. A weagle is more versatile to how I like to work WTD baits. Fast or slow, seems like the jackpot only likes slow...

Posts: 2089 | The Weagle moves horizontal in the water (notice screw eye placement) while the JJ is what I call a "head bobber". Many WTD baits are this style, which makes the Beagle a bit different. It was designed to run lower in the water as well. Both are great baits . Steve

Posts: 2015 | If there is slight to moderate chop on the water - I will always pick a weagle for WTD bait (they have put more fish in the net) But for tough conditions on a dead flat calm day I like a jackpot - and if you can say GO Hawkeyes!!! before setting the hook after a strike you miss far less fish!

Posts: 39 | Jackpot sits up higher and doesnt hook as many fish (since it tends to get blown away from the fish when they rise to it) You might want to try a Homewrecker from Reaction Strike as well...

Posts: 66 Location: Minnesota | Essoxaddict, now that's a good post! I have seen my weagle go 6 feet airborn before in her mouth. Jackpots are only good in flat calm conditions. Dan www.bookemsmuskyshop.com Edited by Dan Urbas 7/17/2007 3:52 PM

Posts: 38 | I always used to use jackpots. This year i got a weagle and its pretty good. I sure caught a lot more fish on jackpots tho. Jackpots are a lot less money too. Take the 15 dollar difference and buy another bait. ha. personally i like the phat boys the best. Joe

Posts: 32886 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The Weagle accounted for both Lake George fish tonight during Rhinelander League. I got a 35.5, and another team got a 41.5. I saw 8 other fish, lots of action! I have a few jackpots still, use them when it's dead calm. I also would comment on the fact I can work a Weagle in NASTY slop, which I cannot do with most other WTD baits.

Posts: 1270 | My take is that the Weagle sits lower in the water and needs to be worked slower than the GJ. Weagles also seem to have more of a dendency of going below water if worked to fast. Neither of these are bad thing, in fact they can be a benefit at times. Moral of the story - get a couple of each!

Posts: 32886 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | And someone from (hmm, I just can't figure out who...) Eastern Canada knows all about the Weagle and the big fish caught on them? The Weagle scored another Muskie for me today. It's a good lure. peagle, I suggest you buy a Bobbie, that is a great lure too.

lot of lure can caught 30 inch fish, you just caught it because the fish are hungry.are you trying to thold us your fish grab it because it was a stupid weagle?skywalker, doc, jackpot also score some 30 inch fish, not less not more than a weagle.why not a satisfier?price is better, color awesome. thats just a exposure question, same thing for the pacemaker, everybody throw them, but why everytime i troll them whit some teasertsails on the side, more than 3/4 of the time the teaser score?thats just because musky dont NECESSARIALY bite ''hot'' lure. btw mojo is a mf member and you probably get some free weagle no???so stay fair!!!!

Posts: 32886 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | What is a MF 'member'? Let's see, there are about 3500 of those. No, I buy my lures mostly, though Baldy HAS given Sue a lure or two. I AM being 'fair', and honest. You, on the other hand, are bing rude and unnecessarily critical of a proven big fish topwater lure. YES, there are times the Weagle really shines over the other walk the dog topwaters I own. I think it's because it is way heavier, rides lower, and makes WAY more noise. I can work it faster and keep it in the water, or do the 'death march' with it and still keep the glide distance tight. Which 30" muskie you talking about? I haven't caught a 30" fish in months. What is a 'satisfier'? Never have seen one. Should I make a rude, unsolicited, mean spirited comment about that lure? Nope. Everybody throws a Pacemaker? Really? I live where that bait is most popular, and don't see 'everybody' fishing them. Ty is a great guy, the lure catches fish, and that's nice, but what does that have to do with the Weagle?

Posts: 2384 Location: On the X that marks the mucky spot | Peagle, PK is the "original" Weagle baby. History: Cady and I used to be in business together in the early days of Musky Nut when we made the Wabull. One day while PK and I were fishing Iowa together on one windy April morning, he picked up the Weagle prototype (after I took it off one of my rods because it was "too windy") and proceeded to have a 4 fish day in my dirty water. I threw every WTD topwater I had in the boat and didn't get a sniff while fishing first. He also was the only person to catch a fish out of our group of 4 boats. Throughout that first summer we experimented with other WTD topwaters being fished 1st-3rd in the boat. Funny how the "overhyped" Weagle caught over 5-1 over the Jackpots, Vipers, HR's and anything else we could find. There is something special to that bait, I don't know if it's profile or sound (I think sound) but there is something to it. As to the guy that says to buy 2 Jackpots, the problem with that is that 2 Jackpots will still fall apart WAY before a Weagle will. You also don't have to replace any hardware or be afraid of the screw-eyes pulling out of the Weagle either. Pictured is one of PK's 4 fish he caught that day. I'm holding it because I had to hand land it and it was too feisty to hand it off without putting it on the floor. This one was one of those "tiny" fish you were talking about... Posts: 2384 Location: On the X that marks the mucky spot | I LOVE that video. I love it even more because I'm pretty sure I know the SPOT. Trust me that I don't think a Weagle's probably ever been thrown on that lake...that is until this August when I'm up there.
