Sue is healing up from surgery this weekend, so it will be limited time on the water, but Keith and I should get out on area waters for the Northern WI opener. We are hitting Moen for sure. How about you, where are you headed?

Heading to Spider Lake chain (Sawyer Co.) for a father/son weekend hoping I can help the boy catch and release his first Esox and give our new Ranger 1860 Angler it's first Muskie run as well!

Headed to Kentuck on Saturday and a smaller lake if that doesn't seem to be producing after a few hours. Sunday it's off to Pike/Round Chain with two friends. Hope everyone has a great time out this weekend.

Thinking of giving the Chippewa Flowage a try for the opener. Ty Sennett is picking Gale Oxley and myself up at 5:30 tomorrow morning and fishing for a few hours with him, that man got crazy muskie skills!!!!!!!!
Then the two of us will spend the rest of the day wandering around the myriad of islands.

Sticking close to home because of the gas prices plus I'm not one to travel amid the holiday traffic. Might be hitting the Fox Chain or Silver. Hey, someone has to be watching Muskyboys back, those gunboats just seem to be getting bigger and bigger every year. Geeeeeeesh! Muskyboy, if you see a vintage Sprint (burgandy/silver)with a Mariner 100 come on by and say hello.

Cranberry bogs for some bass and pike action. It's nice being the only boat on the water on a busy weekend...

Hosting a walleye and homebrew feed at my place on Saturday for a few friends. Might get out on Pineview for a couple hours on Sunday morning. I hate fishing holiday weekends in the powerboat crowds (I guess can sacrifice a day or two since I've been muskie fishing since March). It looks like the weather is going to be good enough to bring them out in force this weekend too. I'll fish Wednesday w/ my boys. I'll also be putting up a new flag to help honor our Vets.

early Saturday morning i'll be out on Waubesa.
Sunday and Monday i'll hopefully sneak out to some local waters for a few hours.
i would have liked to head to Green Bay for the northern opener, but there's this little girl at home now so i can't go quite as far for quite as long for awhile. in another couple weeks she'll be ready to travel for trips to Grandma and Grandpa's up in GB...game on!

Boy that is a tough decision. With gas prices what they are I think I am going to stay close to home so I will be stuck fishing Vilas and Oneida County all weekend

I love opening weekend, especially ones that are cold. Boat traffic won't be bad and over the years I have boated more muskies on colder weekends provided the fish have spawned.

Good luck to all.

So many lakes, and only a three day weekend. Three Lakes for sure, Moens probably, Pelican possibly, throw a couple smaller lakes in there and my weekend is full!

Good luck everyone, and be safe on the water and the roads.
