Wondering if there is anything on the market that would attach to the gunnel of your boat and hold and organize baits in the front of the boat? I am tired of having 20 baits sitting up at my feet, all tangled up.. Would like to buy something that would screw into the gunnel and hang 10 baits or so off from it... I do not use a pedistal seat, so the option of putting the bait holder in the center of my pedistal is not an option... Thanks

Posts: 313 Location: On your favorite spot | I just finished a SWEET bait organizer this morning. Ordered some clear vinyl tubing and built an aluminum bracket to hold them to the wall of my boat along the livewell. 17 tubes will hold at least 30 baits, all at your fingertips when you need to change. I'm not very handy but it was a cinch. I'm out of town this weekend but will post pics next week. This was the best thing I could think of since I don't want to sacrifice the room in my boat for a big bait box. Couldn't be happier with it. Easy to make.

Posts: 313 Location: On your favorite spot | http://www.uline.com/Browse_Listing_3651.asp?desc=Clear+Plastic... Mike Sybert posted this link for me when I first asked about tubing - my order shipped the same day, I had it the very next day. Tubes are flexible but appear to be durable, and I ordered 25 so I have some extras. They are a little pricey but worth it IMO. It's about $63 including shipping for 25 tubes. Jclymer, if you want to drop by and see it I'd be happy to show you - I'm in Waite Park. PM me if you're really interested and we can meet next week. Also looking for fishing buddies once the season starts......I've got my own spots, I swear!

Posts: 89 | Hey MIke, Just wait till your walking around bare foot in your boat and you get one in your toe. On some of those nice summer days if feels good to walk around with no shoes on in the boat.

Posts: 2427 Location: Ft. Wayne Indiana | I won't allow dogs in my boat, have never fished bear foot.... Definatley beats carrying around a bunch of heavy tackle boxes that take up space...

Posts: 89 | Hey MIke, Yeah I see your point about carrying all those tackle boxes. You can get a good work out lifting some of those boxes around.

Posts: 82 Location: Owatonna,MN | Afraid to admit it, but, I go by the Mike Hulbert rule of tackle organization. Have tried other methods but seem to get in too big of a hurry and just toss stuff. Don't like tackle boxes in the boat. Takes up too much room!!

Posts: 2112 Location: The Sportsman, home, or out on the water | I got asmall baitwell up front, just ahead of the windshield. I hang my used baits in there instead of throwing them back in the box wet.

Posts: 101 Location: Northern Illinois | Just finished organizing my box today. Bucktails here, gliders there, topwater here, crankbaits there, jerkbaits there, plasics over there. It should stay that way for about the first 30 min., then chaos ensues. Next thing I know I'm pulling 6 lures out all tangled together. Oh well, I gave it a shot. A good friend of mine who's boat is always cluttered, lost the largest muskie he ever had on because he was all tangled up with a Suick stuck in his gym shoe during the battle.

No wife (if you got a GREAT WIFE) and no dog (if you got a GREAT DOG)= your life is missing your two best friends in the world (well, besides K-bob and Muskymaj). I cannot imagine life (or fishing) without Lolleitta or Cleo. Sure, life was good before them, but beef was awesome before I tasted venison.

Posts: 2037 Location: lansing, il | i have a great wife who doesnt mind me goin musky fishing, and doesnt have to breathe down my neck 24/7 nor do i need to do the same to her...when you get 20 yrs in come talk.........as far as a great dog goes, that would be one in the right size and color that i could sling over the side of the boat and have a fish hit! marc..very nice set up!!!! i like that!!!

Posts: 2427 Location: Ft. Wayne Indiana | I am not missing anybody.... especially friends..... The joys of doing what I want, when I want and how I want..... With a dog and wife you can't do that. I don't need a woman to make me happy.... I don't need a stupid dog following me around all the time...I have Shane for that.
