Posts: 55 Location: SW Michigan | To catch my first Musky. I've had some close encounters while walleye fishing etc..., but was always under gunned. But not this year. I'm gearing up to intentionally land one. I've been studdying this site for month's & really appreciate all the info I've gotten. Can't wait 'till the opener to try some of it out!!!!!!

Posts: 3242 Location: Racine, Wi | Get my newly addicted nephew on the water more this year and help him learn. He got his first two fish last season (37 and 43) and I got him a Muskies Inc membership for this year, so he's 11 and ready to rock. Other than that, get out with my dad more, get my daughter out in the playpen, have fun, catch a few fish, catch a few sunrises, moon rises, moon sets, and sunsets. Oh yeah, get some more salmon with Slamr and the boys.

Posts: 16632 Location: The desert | Make it out to Utah safetly. Fish with Sorenson as much as he will let me. Learn a bit about catching trout. Catch a decent tiger musky and have a fun summer that goes by fast so I can get back to school and fish the muskies around Point in the Fall. I'd like to beat my PB but I'll just let that come I'm not going to put myself under the pressure to accomplish that.

Posts: 2865 Location: Brookfield, WI | I need to get my daughter, who will be 10, out on the golf course and in a boat. I'm hoping she has so much fun golfing with me she takes some interest in fishing. Sort of a bait and switch, or switch to bait. Whatever the case may be. As for me, I'm going to try and take myself much more seriously. I feel with one year on the water under my belt, it's time to start developing an ego. It's the accelerated muskie fisherman development plan. Kevin Smithers, release the hounds.

Posts: 8865 | We like you just the way you are Kevin. And I know you're kidding, because taking yourself too seriously will take the fun out of musky fishing like letting the air out of a balloon. *PBHBHBHBHBHBHBHBHBHBHBHBHBHBHBHBHBHBHBHB puh* We go out there and cast all day long to catch what is arguably the ugliest lookin thing in the lake, then we hold it up for a picture "Hey, lookit me with this ugly lookin thing, ain't I pretty? Mine's biggern yers!" Then we let it go. And we keep doing this? How can anbody who stops for one second to think about what we're doing out there take themselves that seriously? I'm revising my musky fishing goals for this year: I wanna FISH. And I want to have fun doing it. I can be serious if I need to, like if the boat's sinkin or I wind up with a hook in me arse, or there's money on the line, but I'm out to have fun first.

Posts: 1061 Location: Medford, WI | butter, I'm with you as the #1 goal to get a boat! I've been watching for some cheaper used ones, but for now I'll keep using my grandma and grandpa's. Fishing with my dad and getting him some nice fish would be really nice. He's always run the trolling motor (transom mount) so I probably get about 5 casts to his 2. I've caughten a few nice ones, but he's only got one over 40 so I want to get him his first mid to upper 40" fish this year. Try to get my girlfriend out to fish with me a little bit, but between work and travel that's going to be a tuff one. Definitely want to have some more productive fish & camp lakeside trips this year and LEARN everything I can. Last, but not least, I want to venture into bucktail-making; I've been thinking about it for so long and now it's a matter of getting the materials. Started to airbrush baits this winter and that is going good so I want to continue that. It's nice to see all of the newer guys on here that are looking for their first or getting their friend, family member, etc. their first! That's what it's all about...being out on the water with the people who you care about and having fun regardless of what you catch. Wish everyone luck in 2007!!! -Jake Bucki

Posts: 2686 Location: Hayward, WI | Put a 45" or better in the boat. Put at least 20 muskies in the boat myself (caught 9 last year, but I feel good about next year). Catch fish on more than 1 lake like I did last year. Be more versatile. I could probably think of 100 goals, but those are the ones at the top of the list. curleytail
