What lure in the arsenal gets the most leader time for you? I'm curious if it's a regional thing more related to the waters fished, or a personal choice more related to 'comfort zone'.

I would guess last year it was a Violent Strike Mag Willow, because I spent so much time fishing slop and shallow reeds. Close second would be a Weagle/Wabull, depending on how hard I felt like working.

The two lures I threw a lot this past year were, a weagle and a crusher bucktail. They both put fish in the boat and I threw them tons.

Gotta go with the dawg - first and last fish of the year and a few in between - personal confidence thing for me - I'd throw it anywhere but central Minnesota likes it's dawgs!

Weagle. I like working WTD lures. There's also something I like about flying muskies !

mostly gliders, although I try to not stick with one catagory. It's hard to switch when most of the fish you contact with that season all came on gliders. Blame K-bob for getting me hooked on them and ShaneW for making awesome ones.

Mostly spinnerbaits. Both Violent Strike and Rad Dogs.
I think they were the only lures that I got more than one fish on.

Our lake seemed turned off June and July with me tossing my usual assortment of topwaters and some A&L custom bucktails he made me. My daughter still only throws her "lucky" pacemaker and had steady action but it seemed I couldn't find a fish until the end of July when I started throwing a Shallow Invader, a couple differant spinnerbaits and a Hellraiser Bearclaw. Action on all of them but the Bearclaw was hot! most of August and September.

This fall I rediscovered twitching. I have a highly modified grandma with 28 fish and about 8 more hookups on it. The Cranky Nitros are seeing alot of time for me as is the EZ Riser from lakeshore lure co. I have the new Zam jerkbaits too and Ican't wait o try them!

Last summer the sucker colored red-hot suick followed by Black Shumway Flasher and then next in line the good ol' Jackpot.
Bulldawgs are probably right in the middle of all of these! Way too many great baits to choose from!!!

prolly a suick, can't give up on old faithful, but usually a minnow bait of some sort, jake\grandma, very versatile baits.
But, it all comes down to the water and what "feels" good for the day, obviously matching conditions, surroundings and mood of fish, but yeah, its gotta feel right.
ask my partner, He'll laugh, I'll put a bait on, make a cast, take it off, do the same for a few other baits till I find the one, and then wham, there she is!

makes me sick how many baits we buy on impulse of what they look like on the shelf, and where they end up? on display in the boat, and most of them never get used,
never enough time on the water to experiment. never............

Seasonally dependant really, and each year has its own wierdness too. But when casting... the ole standbys remain so year in year out... In reality I have more of a top 10 as one or two just doesn't cover it, but the lure below has gotten more leader time than any other in the past 3 years.

GP Thumper Spinnerbait

followed by... Rylure Tapdancer(or Globe), 10" Jake, Triple Take, G Log, Nitro, Jerko(or Reef Hawg), Topraider

my basic 3-rod setup almost always starts the day as follows:
rod 1) jackpot or viper
rod 2) bucktail (Huntertail or Cowgirl) or blackbird topraider
rod 3) 9" perch Grandma (or depthraider)

For me in '06 it was...
1.) Double Cowgirl
2.) Depthraider
3.) M-9 Grandma
4.) Topraider (Reg or Super...tie between them)
5.) Tremor

In '07 I plan on it being...
1.) Depthraider
2.) Tremor
3.) 6" Shaker
4.) Weagle
5.) Dawg Tail

Threw a lot of spinnerbaits, because just like Sworrall, I found myself fishing shallower, weedier areas more than usual.
Second would have to be my own gliders, with the majority of the time going to the prototypes of the 10"ers that I made and the heavy Perkas.
Fished much less time with a top water last year. Opted for buldging spinnerbaits instead.

Dawgs followed closely by bucktails (mepps marabou) get the most water time.
