Posts: 16632 Location: The desert | Yeah that a colorado blade.... Shep, we figured at the show the best method of casting would be to get over some deep water, drop the bait in....drive away until you are completely unspooled then start retrieving!

Posts: 2089 | And......when the rod DOES explode, will it be covered under warranty? It will take a VERY specialized rod to cast that thing. If you cast it, they will eat it. Steve

Posts: 16632 Location: The desert | Good tip Steve! I taped it out at roughly 28 inches! Yes I am looking into getting the XXXH rod from St. Croix. That thing could sling the 2 Pounder like a rag doll!

Posts: 4080 Location: Elko - Lake Vermilion | Pride, First off go to heaver duty split rings because when that thing gets bit its going to be from a mighty big creature. Second, if your going to attempt to throw that thing you better be as big as Yow Ming or have good Med. Insurance for when you rip your arms off. Oh by the way I'll be buying a few for trolling in Mn. Good Luck, Jerome

LOL! Yeah...that's a perfect way to describe the way to "cast 'n retrieve" a bait like that. Was that bait meant to be a show display? Or an actual lure that they're going to market and sell in quantities?

Posts: 785 | Just make sure you thumb it on the cast or you may end up with a dawg ball from hell. Boy and I thought fishing with the pounder was work.

Posts: 16632 Location: The desert | Dadson, You have the 6'9 XH? I've got a 7' XH and I have a feeling that will throw it no problem. My big snax baits dont even bend that rod.

Location: Lake Tomahawk, WI | We already have group discounts at the chiropractor from last summer, Lijewski could barely move after opening weekend. You do get conditioned to it, and we wouldn't go through the pain if they didn't work. JS

Posts: 350 Location: WESTERN WI | Mike, I understand you are a youngin and all, I am 27 and I think that even that if I found the right rod to handle that bait it would be a challenge to cast for more than an hour or 2. Rotator cuff replacements and chiropractor visits are not cheap. Even after all that, I STILL WANT ONE!!!!! I hope it comes with its own HMO health care plan. Let me know how the XXXH St. Croix works.

Posts: 85 | slimm - 1/15/2007 7:28 PM Make sure you replace the splitrings. Ask dadson about the docudrama SJ put on for him with his brand new giant bulldawg...... Ryan I was there with SJ for a "real life" demonstration on the Pond last summer of the reason to replace the rings on the Dawgs, watched a 50+ inch fish swim away with a treble on my girlfriends son's line......and an open split ring in hand in the boat. Talk about a buzz kill..... Look at the pics on post #1, the rings look tiny! Chris

Location: Des Moines IA | I'd go with Bucher 7's or maybe even the Wolverine triple split rings .......
