| Zach- I can't upload any photo's (.jpg) - I get error processing request every time I try- Is there a timer on the UP load? I only have 26.6k connection. I have tried shrinking the files ( max size was 175kB. Al Warner | |||

| Welcome to my world Al...one of dissapointment, disillusion + small daily tragedies! I am determined to home school meself + make lemonade from this lemon tree I'm perched in....[:(] [:sun:] | |||
| |||
| Any luck Al!!????[:(] [:(] [:(] [:(] [:(] [:(] I just took the *&%&*F%$#%$@X% directions + flung them to the 4 winds....I'll HIRE SOMEONE TO COME OVER + LEAD ME THRU THIS[:(] [:(] [:(] [:(] | |||

| You know I was having the same problem with any pics I tried to upload. Here's what I got to work. Even though the pics on my computer were in a jpg format I scanned them in using a non-microsoft program. I just re-jpged them thru my microsoft program and they would upload. Don't ask my why...maybe microsoft put some bugs in there on purpose to sell their products....wouldn't be the first time would it? BrianW | |||
| |||
| I can't get any #^&%%*&*( to work. [:(] | |||
| |||
| Hey what do ya know- Thanks DocEsox, looks like it worked. I re-saved it as a .bmp then saved as a .jpg using Microsoft Photo Editor. Thanks for the tip- now just have to hit submit & see if it comes up w/ the post.[:((] Nope- it didn't show up- but message post window said the file was attached. Obviously it was recieved @MF server. Al Warner www.icantplayfindmyfoot.com | |||

| Guys, First and foremost, do not type any text in before attaching a pic, it won't work. Second,try saving the image to a floppy in .jpg format, and attach the pic from the floppy disc. Make sure the file is attached before submitting the post. | |||
| |||
| [:bigsmile:] [:0] [:((] [:devil:] | |||
| |||
| One last try | |||
| |||
| Steve- followed your instructions to the letter-save to floppy & uploaded from there- The message above the message windows say's "You attached the following file to this post:Al standing on Laptop.jpg". The only change was this file name didn't end w/ a 1 and I uploaded it from the floppy. Al Warner www.icantplayfindmyfoot.com | |||

| Al....I'm just curious. Send me one of the pics you wanted to post and let me give it a whirl. I'm just interested to see if it will work. BrianW [email protected] | |||

| This is a test. The picture shows me doing what I do when I'm not Muskie or Walleye hunting. Taken in SE MN. Zach | |||
| |||
| Zach...should all the pics be jpg? Wife said she would help me out on this one by changing the whatever for me![:sun:] | |||
| |||
| Sponge, They can be gif OR jpg. Either format will work, however .jpg will give you better results on a photo. Zach | |||
| |||
| Let's give it a rip SpongeDude.....BTW nice hair. I was class of '73...and you? BrianW Zach....this has to be an intentional microsoft glitch. Sponge's pic was in jpg and wouldn't load. I took it thru my Microsoft Picture It software...left it in jpg...but now it loads....sounds a bit fishy. ;Don't you know Bill Gates...can't you just give him a call and ask? | |||
| |||
| Zack: Is there anyway to increase the size of the file that can be downloaded? 250M bytes is not big enough for many of the JPG files that I have scanned. Many of my scanned pictures are in excess of 400M bytes, and some are near 600M bytes. I'm not sure what causes this, but I suppose it has to do with the scanner that was used. Doug Johnson | |||
| |||
| Doug....size is the file is determined when you scan it in. I have a bunch of already scanned files that are in excess of 250 also. I just run them back through my picture software....there usually is an option for adjusting the size of the picture. It has worked for me. Us adjusting the size is WAY easier then Zach having to adjust the whole system. Plus if we keep getting bigger and bigger file sizes it has to be stored somewhere...got any extra space in your living room Zach?? BrianW[:bigsmile:] [;)] [;)] [;)] | |||

| Lol Doc! Hair is not that thick nor long now....I was released in '72....pass me a Motrin! I'm slowly trying to figure out what is going on + if I can just get the wife down here for any length of time she can figure this out for me![:sun:] *Thanks Zach...I think I kept the directions to the scanner that should show me how to get the jpj thing going...ok to be dumb when those around you are smart![:0] [:sun:] | |||

| Doc, email the Shaun Cassidy look-alike pic to me just as Sponge had it, without alteration. Doug, Even 250k is too large of an image to upload, it doesn't need to be that large. It would take too long to view (especially for you poor dial-up people), and also it would really eat up my disk space in a hurry. What you need to do is resize the pictures. For the web they only need to be scanned at 72 dpi. My guess is that they were scanned for print at 300-400 dpi. An easy way to resize them is to open MS Paint [Start > programs > accessories > Paint] and then open the jpg file through there. Once the file is open, go to [Image > Strech/Skew]. In the strech (not skew) box, reduce both the horizontal and vertical dimensions by the same percentage. Once you have the size you want, go [File > save as] and save it under a new name. Keep in mind when you do this that you can make the file smaller, but not bigger. If you'd like, email me the images you have and I can resize them for you and send them back. On a side note, I have been testing a "thing" that will do this for you right on the site. It's pretty cool. It's interactive. It's also part of the reason I don't have an images section up yet; keep finding cool things to add to it. I'll get it up as soon as I feel confident it won't screw anything else on the site up. | This is spongebabe...Shaun Cassidy was a "hunk" in my day...can you guess when I was "released"?[;)] | |||
