Posts: 38 Location: Port Washington, WI | Fished the Fox in De Pere on Saturday with no luck. On Sunday boated a 46 on Pewaukee and lost one a little bigger. Both fish on suckers in 12 feet of water right around moon rise. This is my first post here so not sure if the picture will come through. Posts: 2112 Location: The Sportsman, home, or out on the water | Dr. Mike and i met Pointer and K-bob on dubay. I hit a SKINNY 32 and a 24 on a hang ten. What the heck that 24 would do with a 10" bait is anyones guess. Great day with 3 great guys. The first "shnort" of victory dance came at 10:08.

Posts: 16632 Location: The desert | Had fun chasing fish around on Dubay with Rob, Dr. Mike and K-bob! A little chilly out there, the fact that the fish cooperated with Rob rather then with me just made it colder HAHA! Still cant feel the tip of my middle finger from the cold...oh well thats fishing I guess! Thanks to kbob for coming out to fish and having me in the boat! Mike

Posts: 2515 Location: Waukesha & Land O Lakes, WI | My plan was to fish Palmer/Tenderfoot..Mom Nature said no to that. Completely iced. So we headed over to the Cisco Chain. A layer of ice was broken through by some duck hunters, so I didn't have to to do it (Elby should be happy with that). Our plan was to stay deeper. Nothing less than 15ft. For the first 2 hours we did just that, 15-18fow. After seeing nada, we moved out to deeper water yet..20-30. Another hour passed and the light South winds drifted us over 20 with yet nothing. Another 30 minutes, 25fow, nothing ...as soon as we drifted over 30'.....ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZT. The sucker at 22' got nabbed. We got a nice 36-37. Drifted until dark, with nothing. Sunday morning we got out about 8am and found no ice at all on the chain. Went right back out to 25-30ft and had to more pick up and drops by noon. I've never been one to fish suspended fish, never had to, but I'm starting to see what I've been missing. No structure at all where we were, just alot of water and bait. Fish are there, you just have to stagger your sucker lines and be patient to find them. Water temps on Big Lake were 36.8 to 37.4 Saturday, up to 37.8 bu Sunday afternoon. With the weather expected this week, I see no problem in having open water over the Gun/Deer opener.

Posts: 247 | Fished both days this weekend. On Saturday we got a 38.5, lost 5, all on Suckers, and had 4 follows. On Sunday we boated fish of 37.5, 38, 38 and a super fat 46 X 21. We lost 5 again on suckers and moved 2 on baits. Not a bad weekend. We did have to make the majority of the fish move after they picked up the sucker. They would grab it, then just sit there. Anyone else have that happen this weekend? Steve Ruhmann

Posts: 661 Location: Roscoe IL | Fished Saturday, between the 2 of us we lost aproxx 15 and caught 4 (43.5 - 41.5 - 38.5 - 34.5) . I was the lucky guy catching the 4 this time, things have a way of evening out sometimes. Last week it was the other guy. All fish came off sharp breaks and hit the meat. Best times were very early, just as the sun came up, slow in the middle of the day & after 3:30pm they decided to play again until an hour past dark. What a site that full moon is on a nice calm lake! Didn't want to leave....

Posts: 222 Location: Hartland, WI | JLong and I had a fantasitic week in Vilas. We managed 6 over the weekend, and looking back it should have been around 10. We lost at least 4 and had another 20 (easily) chasing. Nothing on suckers, all on artificals. I lost 3 of the 4...with one being around 48" and the other around 45". Here are some pics. The cisco spawn is done from the looks of it...but the fish are moving. Absolutely awesome weekend on the water...and to make it even better, all of the fish we hooked and caught with the exception of one was on a figure 8. Posts: 1937 Location: Black Creek, WI | Yup... it was a good weekend with Johannes. There is nothing better, in my opinion, than scoring on a Figure 8.... and the Figure8 was deadly this past weekend. Up close and personal!!!! Most fish that showed themselves would stay on the Figure8 for very long periods of time. Some fish we'd even just quit figure8ing since it felt futile after a few minutes. Even if they didn't eat... its still exciting experimenting with bait movements and seeing how they respond. The pause on the Figure8 was key this past weekend.... and you could CALL THE SHOT the fish were so easy to read. I'm pretty confident every strike was predicted prior to launch (heh heh). Fueled the ego meter nicely. And don't worry.... I made certain that JJ felt the pain for losing those two brutes (heh heh). Losing the bigger fish (a solid 48 incher) was a tough one to swallow. She was a solid 30 pounds and was hooked long enough for me to be standing ready with the net before she tore off during a mega power run. Seeing that fattie T-Bone the crankbait after several turns of the figure8 was a rush even for me... an innocent bystander. I can only imagine what it felt like having that fish eat only a few feet from your face! JJ... can you comment on that??? Heh heh.

Posts: 723 | Hehe, rub that one in long why dont you! The 8 was working nicely for us too this weekend. caught a few fish on it, but, lots of fish when bringing the bait in slowly, and then sped it up the last 5ft before the boat, they'd come out of no-where and cream it! we had pike doing the same thing. kinda weird!

Posts: 62 Location: Mokena, IL | We were along on the trip with Commanche. As he said, we put 7 in the boat between the two boats, but it could have been as many as 14! We just couldn't get the hooks into the others. They were all on suckers that just didn't hook up. We had a nice little feeding window right at moonrise on Sunday where we lost three fish in about 45 minutes. Oh, what could have been! Brad

Posts: 1937 Location: Black Creek, WI | Lungin, Out of curiousity... how deep were you draggin' your suckers? We had one sucker out all day on Sunday hoping to pick up some of those followers (our most productive day) and it never got a sniff.

Posts: 335 Location: Orland Park | jlong, We had 4 suckers running between 13' and 20' and tried to stagger them while holding the boat between 20'-28', kind of bouncing in and out depending on how steep the drop offs were. The three we caught were from 13' to 15' and lost one at that depth. We lost 2 others that were deeper........15' to 18'.
