Posts: 1060 Location: Palm Coast, FL | Well, I just went to the local BMV yesterday to renew my tags. Unluckily I didn't have them done last year and had to pay last year and this year. My wife had to get new plates for her new vehicle. I asked about personalized plates. They run $48 a year extra. Not bad I thought. I then asked to see if MUSKIE or MUSKY had been taken. I figured no way were they available. To my surprise neither had been taken. So, I applied and took MUSKIE. My wife made the comment of which friend I would tell to get the MUSKY license plate. I thought about it for a while and said to her, "how about for your Murano?" To my surprise she said sure! So, sometime in late January/February we are getting our personalized license plates. I am such a lucky husband!

Location: Minneapolis, MN | Sure its only $48 up front but you may be overlooking the long term costs. If you are planning to fish any good walleye water where there are also muskies, you will probably have to replace those plates several times. I just found out FIB is an available MN plate. Wife said NO! Edited by Luke_Chinewalker 10/25/2006 12:11 PM

Posts: 366 | Lincoln, but during the summer when I'm not in school I'm usually either on LOTW or in the Walker, Mn area. I am also part of the Nebraska Muskies Inc. chapter that just started up last winter. Although most of the activities and meetings they've held I've been up north and haven't attended. Where do you fish muskies primarily? How long have you been doing it? And no, there are not many of us Nebraskan muskie hunters, but probably more than one might think. There are a lot that are just occasional muskie fishermen in the sense that only do it maybe once every other year, and don't really consider themselves to be "muskie guys", but not because they don't really enjoy doing it. It's always good to make contact with another husker muskie nut though. Ryan Anderson

Posts: 366 | Yeah, that was me. My wife is from Omaha and still works there, so I'm up there quite a bit. Most people in Ne don't know what the plates even mean. I once had someone ask me if it meant "Miss Kentucky Forever", I actually started laughing and realized that he was serious and told him that it was Musky Fever. I don't think he had actually thought that one through in his head before asking me, but who knows. When I originally got the plates I had a '96 Chevy Tahoe that was dark green and I painted gold pearl muskie strips down the side of it. They were pretty cool and would really turn heads if the sun hit the stripes just right and lit them up. I'll try and find a picture to post so you understand what I mean. Some people just thought I was some sort of Ted Nugent wanna-be. Ryan
