If you were able to go back into the past what baits would have you bought more of and what baits would you have not bought. I would of bought more le lures (creepers). I also know a lot of people look for 7strand bulldawgs. If I only had a time machine

I'm old, and i have alot of old baits...... Hummmmm.........
2000 Hughes Rivers, I have some but sure would like to go back to when Jim started.
They cost $17.95.
Minteer baits, my favorite, but i have a ton.
Maybe a Perrywinkle or two, now they are out of sight!!!!!!!!!
Definitely the Marge Bait, I have two and it was murder getting them. I've never seen one for sale on ebay, and Dave just isn't making them for sale anymore. They are very similiar to a Perrywinkle.. Johnny Dadson calls them the "Holy Grail" LOL

Baits i wish i never bought....... I could name them, but will not do so. The only thing i will say is that they met their untimely end in my fireplace. Best, PS

I wish I had bought one or two of certain lures instead of 10 or 20

Especially of the ones I never use

Hey Pikie,

Quit hording those Marge baits buddy!! Surely you can part with one...

Wish I had been Musky fishing when baits like Hannahs, Parrywinkles, Pensie Pikies and Hutchings Baits were available for next to nothing...

Lots of newcomers I'm very interested in these days though, and I'm stocking up while the gettin's good!

I would have to say original LeLures, Wakemakers and Snodlows to use for fishing.. . . not collecting.

Brad,
I saw Jake Satonica and his wife Rhoda catch tons of muskies on those baits. Now they were trolling, and rather fast....... My buddy and I thought they were annointed.

Hey DAD,
Now, I only have 2.......... If I had more I would trade you........But, it would cost you one of those wishmasters which you have a zillion of........................LOL

I would have bought more 7 strand bulldawgs and never bought a suick. (nothing wrong with them once they're tuned, but there are great alternatives out there)

Worrall,

I'm not sure these guys even know what a snodlow is....LOL ! ! If I could buy 20 Eddie's, at $6.99 each, like I bought my first one, I'd at least 4 or 5 that work. The 7 strand Bulldawg would be a good investment...and yes, I'd have to get a few more Hughes Rivers at $14.(what I paid for them)

In the NEW arena, I think the BIG Joe has never been better. And, now, with over 150 different color combos, they are an awesome bait.

Donnie,
Years ago Roger Sabota (who wrote an article on oversized baits) had an Eddie, that was oversized and made buy a jeweler in Wisconsin. His name escapes me. He was an Eddie Bait expert. He told me that the problem with the newer ones was in the screw eye. Somehow the older ones had smaller screw eyes which caused the bait to roll more on the retrieve. He was also dead set against cutting the wire off and split ringing them. He told me the direct wire connection also aided in the famous roll. Just a FYI

Spawn,

Yep...some worked, and some didn't. I have 3 that work great....but I don't throw glide baits anymore!! I would just enjoy having a few more to call my own!

Definitely some older Le Lure's, HR's, M9 Grandma's, and Nut Weagles. Oh, and anything else I've purchased for more than the original retail price!

Cool thread. OLD BELIEVERS SOLID & JOINTED.

Anyone remember Grim Reaper's big, wood bananna-style trolling bait? Love to get a few more of them, great pike bait trolling.

Worrall, this one's for you. I still have 3 left and still in use. Larry Latino's Renegade Tandem Spinnerbait. Maybe the best ever tandem. Not much to look at but a fish catching machine. The original Giant Jackpot. The ones with the saltwater hooks on them. If you never had one I really feel for you. A good selection of all the colors of the Larew's Salty Hawg Dawg Lizards. Why they quit making these is still a mystery to me. My best jig trailer ever.
