fishing with EA got me thinking about what we all say when we hook one...after hearing EA say "I'm ON!" a few times today I had to think what I say...I think most of the time I simply say "Fish!"

what do you say when you hook one...???

I think I just say "Got one!!!" or sometimes I let the fish speak for me when it jumps. I remember once this year, I was fishing with a new partner. I had a musky hit out of nowhere on the first turn of the figure8. I set the hook and tried hitting the thumbar to release line. My friend looks over and says, "Why didn't you tell me you had one on??"

I prefer brevity: "There."

-"His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into that whole brevity thing."

My middle son called attention to it last month. "dad, why do you say "there's one" every time you catch a fish?"

Usually when I set the hook, my partner knows that something is up! Because the boat usually moves in some way. But otherwise it's got one.

GOTTUM! with a grunt or so when Im slamming hooks home. Its like your body is trained to spit out the same words when this happens, I never say anything different, that I remember anyway If one comes un-pinned, then, there is a variety of things I say

I'm known for my 'Here we go.' announcement and that may be because it doesn't happen often enough.

A simple, FISH!!! usually does the trick followed by GET THE NET!!! if FISH! did not get the message across which sometimes is the case.

"Finally"

Actually I think I said "There you go" on the big Eagle fish. Then came the obscenities, followed by the shaking and quiet sobbing.

Normally it’s “THERE WE GO!!!” Unusually followed by “It’s a @#$&*^! PIKE!”

Normal response to a partner hooking up, “You GOT HER, keep’er HOOKED”

Its always FISH whether it be a follow, a strike, or Esox50 stealing fish from people that get stuck in trees

I just love hearing myself say it because in a few seconds that time we all love can errupt at any second. The suspense of a follow and the mayhem of a fish crushing your bait on the second turn of the figure 8.

LMAO! Do you at least keep both hands on your rod??? haha
