Labor Day is just around the corner, with fall soon to come. At least for me, this is my favorite time to fish, with the fish at their fattest, putting on the feedbag for the cold winter months.

What's everyone's plans for the best time of the year!?

Whore myself out to as many people as possible.
I have a couple planned trips with some very good sticks this fall. My job is to pick thier brain and learn as much a i can from them.. Who knows maybe next year, i'll have a boat.

I'm about 10 minutes from quitting my job, telling the people I work for to go $^$&%, buying a boat, sleeping in my truck, and fishing a different lake every day until the water freezes, at which point I'm heading South...

Sept 16th I will be on stand trying to catch up with the 150" class buck I saw Friday night. I would even settle for one of the 130 inchers traveling with him. If I fill my tag early them I will get after the ski's again. Wrong message board for hunting, but deer trump fish in my book.

I will follow about the same path. No 150 class buck here( I already have too much testosterone based dead stuff hanging in the house), but a buck needs to be in the freezer. And a doe, too. Then many muskies will see my boat, and probably ignore me for the most part.

We are doing great out on Lake Michigan this summer. I am looking to continue that for a few more weeks until I get focused on muskies. I'm doing a three day trip on North Twin the weekend after Labor Day and fishing in the Hodag Muskie Tourney the third weekend in September. Beyond that I hope to earn a designated parking spot in the parking lot on the west end of Pewaukee Lake.

Its been a quiet Summer for me so I'm looking forward to Fall fising. This is the first year I saved all/most of my vacation & decided to use it in October & November instead of July. From 8-8- through 8-15 I will fish the Wiconsin River, looking for that 50+ that threw my Weagle last year. Rest of the fall is open & I will have another 5 day's of vacation to burn going after these critters. Might fish Kentuck for a fall Tiger in late October or early November? I know there in there & I want to break my PB of a 36" Tiger & would love to catch a wall hanger (45+). Replica of course. Any suggestions on a lake for that would be great! Wisconsin only though....

Catch & Release works!

Presque Isle.
Everything else is just gravy. Hopefully that gravy will include a nice local tiger or two.

I might do the Hoedown at Tony Grant's lodge (http://www.muskiesupnorth.com/fishingreports.shtml) if I don't stay in Athens for Halloween. Last time I was there playing guitar, I heard that even buzzards were leaving the area!

Going to Vermillion late next month is still a possibility; we'd hang around the Twin Cities afterward and haunt as many muskie lakes as we could find. m

Finally, for the first time I will not have my boat sold before fall I think that is the 2 out of the last seven falls but that is my own fault. I have the last week in September off am I am looking foward to hooking up with some of my friends and getting out. Heck maybe even getting out with some new friends too I plan to enjoy this fall like no other.

Looking forward for September 3rd to finally get here. My life will then return to normal! No more farm work, slave labor at home, or bored days with absolutely nothing to to......Sure I'll be back at school and have to go to class......but that didnt stop me from fishing last year! Plan on fishing the St. Germain tournment with Brian Swenson the first weekend in October....other than that, just enjoy time with the future wife and having a great time back at college!

By far, the best time of the year. Cool, crisp mornings, mild mid-day temps, no water skiers, no jet skiers, trees turning to gorgeous hues, and big girls are on the prowl. The only downside--it's too darn short.

My labor day weekend will be much like Pointerpride but I will get to move back into the dorms at Point on Friday before labor. I'm not so sure if this is a good thing or not? I could be chasing the fish but then again, I have been away from the college life way TOO long! This to me is just a no brainer, I'm going back to school to chase some women! But just maybe I will find some time to get out on the river if I'm my eyes aren't too occupied with something else. LOL

Play the field? I've seen your "game".......lets just say it looks like a lonely year for you. Also, I do not need permision to go fishing, she likes to come along....I think you are just afraid that she will out-fish you!

Outfish? HA! What's a loney year? Heck, least I have an opportunity to have "game"! You just wait, once you say "I do" in goes the nose ring with leash in her hand! Things may be all good, but from what I hear, sounds like she is so happy to be on the water!

I hope I have my new 1890 Tuffy soon, and then it's going to be hitting Green Bay for fall piggies. Will probably start hitting Shawano Lake with some suckers for a change of pace, and of course the fall MF outing. Can't wait to share a boat with Howie.

Sure hope that fish catching will have improved up there over the summer period
with lowered water temps. I plan on not allowing the lines on my reels to
get dry while I'm up there.
