CPR Matt and Judy |
| |
| If I canget someone to help with the organization I'd love to have one on that side of the country! P & J do you volunteer?

| |
| We are willing to try to set something up, however we have never attended an outing. With some guidance it could be done!
Let us know what you think?

| |
| I would be willing to help out also, as long as I'm not going it alone. What do you think Punch? Big Tune perhaps? |
| |
| I say we have an outing to Las Vegas there are plenty of muskies in lake mead just waiting to be caught |
| |
| You're lying right HH? |
| |
| I'll believe it if you do!!!! any excuse to get me to sin city,,,free drinks served by beutiful girls in tight outfits,,75 degrees right now,,call it a confrenece on the betterment of the musky with the headquarters at the MIRAGE,,,,its only a 3hr flight Ill buy a few muskie fry in an air bag and drop them in the lake,,that way we can justify going every year,,,and for once an outing that I dont care about a pizza place |
| |
| I live about 55 miles from 'Tune and would be willing to help out. Having me organize it though, would be like having Charles Manson as a male nurse![:0]. You might also give some thought to West Branch, Leesville or Milton to keep it (sorta) close to Pa. |
| |
| Leesville is a restricted lake. If you decide on West Branch or Milton I may be able to help as I grew up not far from there. I have fished both for bass but not Muskie. I think West Branch would be a better choice than Milton. Salt Fork is also supposed to be a good muskie lake, but I have never been there. |
| |
| Salt fork is a good muskie lake, and doesn't have any HP restrictions. If we do it there, it should be early or late in the year because of all of the pleasure boaters. |
| |
| Pymatuning is HP restricted as well (though 25 hp not 10). The one advantange to the restricted lakes is no jet-skies to pester you while fishing. Of course, smacking a jet-skier with a 9" Jake might be kinda fun too![] |

| |
| Ok you North East Muskie Hunters we need some more input on which is the best Muskie waters around are area to set up a MuskieFirst outing!!
CPR Matt and Judy
| |
| heres a few ideas,Chataqua,Kinn zoo, conneaut Lake,no hsp resrictions..Pymatuning has a 10horse limit,as does Willhelm ,tamerak , woodcock and any other army core Lakes..I'd be willing to help.As long as Judy is with me ,and .Punk gets LOLA............artie |
| |
| If we are shooting for a no restriction on hp lake, then my vote goes for Salt Fork, or Conneaut. |
| |
| I think Salt Fork may be the best choice if your doing it in Ohio. |
| |
| Looking at 2001 numbers, Leesville was best for both number of fish caught and number over 40" (more than twice as many 40" as any other lake), but it's HP restricted. For unrestricted lakes, West Branch had the most in both categories. Salt Fork didn't have as many total fish caught, but had nearly as many 40" fish as West Branch. Mind you, these are only figures sent into ODNR.
(I'm a financial analyst. It's my nature to crunch numbers![] ) |
| |
| You guys are doing great! Narrow it down! |
| |
| I would say the reasons for those numbers is that there are alot more guys who fish skies in west branch and leesville than Salt Fork. Also, of the 8 50" plus fish registered in the Huskie Muskie club, 5 came from Salt Fork. And it's also really close to home for me! lol
Also, we have to think about lodging. I don't know about lodging at west branch, but Salt Fork, and Conneaut have places to stay. Lodging would be a problem at Kinzua I think. |

| Last year Chautauqua Lake was Hot!Every Tournament ran by Muskies Inc. Chapters saw many fish and size as well.It is a much bigger water that can handle many boats and has no hp limit as well.Redwood Ranch could be setup as the Tournament Headquarters and place to stay.I would be glad to help out and set things up as well. The best time frame for me would be August 3rd & 4th or August 9th,10th & 11th.I am busy with Charters the rest of the summer and fall ,so these dates are the only ones that I could go or help out. This is very good time for both trolling and jerkbait fishing. If this will work let me know.
Thanks, Capt. Larry D. Jones |

| works for me, too. If this comes together there's a good chance I can come up. Any idea on the drive time from, say, Wheeling? m |
| |
| Mikie, I would ballpark it at 3 1/2 to 4 hrs from Wheeling. If you go, we can travel in a convoy, I live in Washington, PA, so you'll be cruising right past. |
| |
| Nobody wants to go to vegas,,,,,OK since your all out east lets have an outing in Atlantic city I know theres muskys in jersey |
| |
| sorry to dissapoint you HH, but Atlantic city sux. How bout chatauqua, with a trip to casino Niagra thrown in, lol. |
| |
