Hey, I was wondering what your guy's favorite walk the dog style lure is. Please post what lure you choose and why you choose that lure.

Haven't throw the Mojo Weagle yet. But I like how Cady's weagles run nose down and kick water with the tail. They are touchy, and will sink on you if you are not careful, but deadly on curious and hot fish.

What about H2O's Recon? Becoming one of my favorite walk-the-dog type lures. I have two Musky Nut Weagles that I used quite a bit last year and working them ssslowwww gave me some real heart attack moments and some big fish success. But the best one of all are still my old style Jackpots, they are a little longer and fatter than the ones they have been selling the last few years. I bought 3 of them when Rollie and Helens was still in Rhinelander and they work better than these new Jackpots.

The Gambler, Doc, and Buchers all work too. The rest I haven't tried but i'll watch the poll to see if theres something I need to puchase.

I voted for ther weagle because I of the ones i have listed above, I like it the best of those. Like was said above, where is the RECON and where is the Hoosire hand made musky 9" shad topwater? Cool poll just for the record there is an option for others to add choices to the poll.

I also like the Phat Boy. I think the heavier ones get thrown by fish easier, so for me, the lighter Phat boy is ideal.

Anyone try one of the hoodinie baits that Jake Shinderlie was selling on here a while back, I think that was a topwater walk the dog.

Viper. Sits low, good sound, hooks well. I have put more fish in the boat with it.

In bigger chop... MNut Weagle. I have not used the Mojo version yet... but I will this season.

to anyone interested in Muskynightmare's Double j's:
There is only 7 left out of the 2006 batch.
not as wide of a swing to help the fish track it better.

The Baby Weagle is actually my favorite, along with Roger Water's H20 Recon and Don Slagle's 9 inch topwater which are also great baits.

The Trueglide and HR topwaters are also nice.

Vipers and Undertakers are not bad either.

I like the Dancin' Raider by Bucher. Great action and I've had better hooking percentages with it than other baits.

It is hard for me not to throw a Jackpot--too many years and too many fish. However, the Phat Boy is getting a lot more time in my boat and has brought up a number of big fish in the last 2 years.

For big walk the dogs, keep your eyes on the 8"Viper. It is solid plastic, has great action/noise, is easy to work and will handle bigger hooks. I put 5/0 Eagle Claws on mine with no problems or noticeable differences. Lee also has a bigger Fish Stik out this year called the Fish Stik HD--or as he told me, his Minnesota model

Too much stuff missing from this list. A list like this without the Recon isn't complete. I liked the Weagle I had but once I had a Recon it made me basically forget about that bait so I gave it away. I'm getting nothing in return from Roger to say this also...but Roger is a pretty cool guy!

I wish we could add a few.....I too love the H20 Recon. I follow that up with the Weagle and the Jackpot.

I'm sure theres a lot of great baits out there that aint thrown due to a bad conection between the line and front eye. if your just using a snap it could be to tight and not allow the bait to rip. Try splittrinnging or directly attaching your leader to the front eye w/ a large loop. some of your not so hot baits maybe a winner.

What about the stidham z180 that lure has a lot of plop at the end of the swing because a weight in the back witch increses hooking persentage
