Posts: 12 Location: Bowling Green, Ky | I was just wondering if there are any other females who like to fish for musky? I live in Ky. and I don't know of any other women who are into the sport. Most women don't even know what one is; and, if they do, don't want to tangle with something with that many teeth. Later.

Posts: 4266 | My wife was my muskie fishin' partner until our daughter was born. We'd drop Taylor off at Grandmas for long weekends, but then Becky had neck surgery twice in 5 years and doesn't spend much time on the water with me anymore. Besides, I'm retired and she only gets 2 weeks of vacation. But starting Friday, my 9-year old daughter will take her spot in the boat for the summer and we will travel around as much as she can bear. Then comes hockey camps in August, followed by hockey practice in Sept.......I have 2 muskie fishin' women, but both of them wish that they had more time to do it. Posts: 2112 Location: The Sportsman, home, or out on the water | Oh, My wife is as addicted to this sickness as much as ANY MAN! So much so in fact, that she brings up going musky fishing more than I do! If I had a picture of her shrunk down enough, I'd post it now.

Posts: 1438 | That's OK MNM.... Slamr didn't shrink his. Well, what I meant was, Slamr didn't shrink his picture when he posted. I wish I was at Worrall's. I was looking for something to delete last time I was there. Scott

| Hello, Muskiemama, There are more and more gals getting involved with this great sport each year. I am a guide in northern Wisconsin (who just happens to be a girl!) and 4 out of 10 of my customers this year are women. Check out my website: http://www.ablondandherboat.com I have a buddy in Kentucky, name is Judy Jenkins, who is an avid musky hunter. I'll email her and possibly she'll join in here. Maybe you two could connect up and fish together. Best wishes and big fish to you, Patricia Strutz | |||

Posts: 8865 | LOL, I'm in the Chicago burbs, and the women around here think fish are "icky" "Eeew, you touch those things?" "do they bite?" "Oh my God, what IS THAT?" Muskie fishing would mess up their manicures and their $100 hairstyles. Besides, you can't wear $200 designer shoes in a boat. It's freakin fashion show around here, I tell 'ya... Jeff

Posts: 12 Location: Bowling Green, Ky | $200.00 designer shoes? Half the time I don't wear any shoes period ( but my husband doesn't seem to mind when I fish in my bikini)

Posts: 12 Location: Bowling Green, Ky | I should have expected that. I'll see what I can do ( mostly bass pictures tho, no musky). And by the way, don't get your hopes up too bad. Teri Hatcher, I'm not!

Posts: 5874 | That's kind of an inside joke on the big fish rumor posts. But not to worry, Terri hatcher is too skinny anyway.

Posts: 3518 Location: north central wisconsin | My wife really enjoys Musky fishing. She has spent about 20 days on the water with me this year, and she has done a couple float trips with my buddies girlfriend while he and I took fishing trips elsewhere. I am thankful for her company and appreciate the fact that she has evolved into a true partner who brings much opinion/knowledge to the table rather than just tagging along as some do. She is still all smiles over the nice one she released and the two others she moved last night(even more smiles for the fact that I did not catch or move anything). Can't wait for our next outing!!! Posts: 233 Location: Des Plaines, IL | Thanks for the "prop's" guys...you too Shep! There are plenty of us girls out there stickin' fish! Patricia Strutz ( a.k.a. Row Trolling Mama) is a great example. There are a few of us girls out there "professionally", but there are countless other women out there stickin' fish every day. Join a club and get involved! Don't get let yourself get discouraged, "stick" with it! (sorry, couldn't resist) Even if there aren't alot of other women in the immediate area that share you interest, They are out there. This is a great place to find some of us "chicks" that fish! Look into Muskies Inc. I think they have a chapter in your area. If not, look into a local "independent" club! Email me any time... Tight Lines, p.s. I make it down to Cave Run a few times a year!

Ladies, and guys who take their ladies fishing or just wish they could, check out my blog ( Put another blog on the fire.) on this website you might find something of interest. No it's not a picture of me in a speedo! I said something of interest...( not something sickening.) I'm sponsoring a prize package for women only. Edited by fishpoop 6/19/2005 6:50 PM

| I am the person that Pat was talking about when she sent you the message. I fish as much as possible but, my mother is sick and right now I dont leave her to often because I don't know how much time she has left. Mark and I fish Cave run quite often. We go every spring and fall for a week and try to take long weekends or just a Saturday or Sunday when I can get away. I would be more that happy to email back and forth and discuss what tackle you are using and the methods you are using to catch Musky. You can email me at work Monday - Friday 7:30-5:00pm at [email protected] or at home at [email protected]. I live in Franklin Furnace, OH right now next to my parents so I dont do anything exciting much. Email me and we can stay in touch and see what lakes you fish and just general information.
