Way to go guys--great fun I'm sure!. Wish I was out there with you!! Consider this though--you ALL are very experienced and very good musky fishermen. Why not keep these girls wet and forget the pics unless they are a personal best? Those sure are beautiful pics, no doubt but lets consider the principle of treating our overfished skis a little better (actually, a LOT better) by keeping them in the water the entire time. Water pics aren't bad. I'm sure you guys have more than enough pics already. It's time we musky guys & gals move on to the next level and forgo most of the informational/bragging/ego pics out of the water. I'm just trying to improve the overall fish handling and thus survivability and therefore catchability of these magnificent beasts. Think about it. We are the local musky fishing leaders/example setters for our local community. Wouldn't it be great if we could teach by example an entirely new concept and philosophy for the betterment of our fishery. That serves my/our ego way more than some pictures anyway--right? Thanx for listening--

great pix guys keep em comin. you guys braved the weather and it paid off id brag my @$$ off!!! i dont know jeff but i do know mike and tom and i can say there is nothing wrong with what they do with thier fish , how they handle them etc. im sure jeff is the same way. were msuky fishermen we have the biggest egos in the world, (outside of snowmobliers) and we love to brag, i know i do!!!! i agree with doin boatside releases on the webster snakes and hammerhandles, but these are awesome fish these guys tied into!!!! they also had alot more in the boat that what they showed so im sure they did boatside release alot of them. why is it no matter what, when a guy has a good day on these boards there is always someone tryin to piss in their cereal?

Don't take pictures of a 47 inch fish because it's not your personal best? I guess I can see your point if the water temps were higher than 80 degrees but .... If you truly don't want the fish hurt than don't fish for them. At what point does this stop being fun? hj

Mr. Kachmann,
First of all we only took pictures or 8 of the 14 that we boated! 6 out of the 8 were over 40 inches and the other 2 were close to 40. I don't know about anybody else but I thought that was a killer weekend and wanted a few pics of these fish to remember it!!! I don't see anything wrong with taking pictures of 40 in. fish!!!! Trust me NONE OF THOSE FISH WERE OUT OF THE WATER FOR MORE THAN 30 SEC AT THE LONGEST!!! IF I THOUGHT ANY OF THOSE MUSKIES WOULD HAVE DIED BECAUSE OF US TAKING THEM OUT OF THE WATER I WOULDN'T HAVE DONE IT!! I HAVE SPENT ALOT OF MONEY BUYING THE BEST CUTTERS,HOOK-OUTS AND NETS THAT I CAN FIND TO MAKE SURE ALL THE MUSKIES WE CATCH GET RELEASED IN THE BEST HEALTH POSSIBLE! WE HAVE BOATED 40 IN. CLASS FISH IN THE PAST THAT WERE HOOKED REAL BAD AND I THOUGHT IT WOULDN'T BE A GOOD IDEA TO PICK THEM UP SO I JUST LET THEM SWIM RIGHT OUT OF MY NET UNTOUCHED. NO PICS!

AS FAR AS EGOS GO I DON'T COME ON THIS SITE OR ANY SITE BRAGGING ABOUT ALL THE MUSKIES WE CATCH! THIS IS ONLY THE SECOND TIME I HAVE COME TO A WEBSITE AND SAID ANYTHING ABOUT THE FISH WE CATCH!! I WASN'T EVEN GOING TO POST THESE PICS HERE BUT I THOUGHT WHAT HULBERT AND I DID WAS SOMETHING SPECIAL!!!! YOU DON'T CATCH 34 MUSKIES (IN THE SAME AREA) IN A WEEKEND ALL THE TIME AND I THOUGHT I WOULD ADD SOME PICS TO HIS POST TO SHOW WHAT A SPECIAL WEEKEND IT WAS!!

I'VE SAID IT ONCE AND I'LL SAY IT AGAIN THE WORSE THING WE ALL DO TO THE FISH IS HOOK IT,FIGHT IT, NET IT AND RIP THE HOOKS FROM ITS FACE! AFTER ALL THAT THE DAMAGE IS DONE!

IF TAKING IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL MEANS NO PICS I DON'T WANT ANY PART OF THAT LEVEL!!! MUSKIE MAGS WOULD BE PRETTY BORING IF THERE WAS NO PICTURES TO LOOK AT!!!! I LIKE SITTING DOWN AT THE END OF THE YEAR AND LOOKING AT ALL THE BIG MUSKIES WE PUT IN THE BOAT!

Like I said, way to go guys, you're super fishermen, and deserve to bragg on such a stupendous day--not trying to sour anyone's fun. I prob picked the wrong post to raise this issue and did not in any way intend to ruin your fun. Just wanted to make a point. Not blaming you at all for taking pics of your awesome fish. I know full well you guys know how to handle a ski. It's the other inexperienced folks that I worry about. We need to teach them what is right. Just thought we could be the leaders here and improve our fishery as I stated earlier. Any new concept meets with great opposition at first. Hopefully, eventually you will see the light. Pics are great. Memories are better. Healthy fish is best! I fully realize this concept is not easy to grasp at first.....

J. King and Hulbert....great fish, great pics.....I don't know you Jeff, but Hulbert is on of the biggest conservationists I know, and I've seen him pull lures away from smaller fish to not catch them.

Also loved the original post as written, but understand why it probbably had to be edited. Ego is a funny thing.

I have personally fished with jeff on several occasions and he is very aware of what he is doing. If he doesn't think the fish is worthy ,he won't take the pic. If I was a fish Iwould want to be handled by jeff! Have a good time takin pics everyone !!!THE BEETS

Nice pictures of some very nice muskies.

Good holds and cold water temps=no problems.....

I can't see anything wrong with posting some pictures of the bigger fish. It looks like you guys are ripping some lips for sure, like the last photo.

Great job Mike and all who are in on this bonanza of muskies. Have fun while it lasts.

Yeah, that last fish thrashed in the net and messed her face up. That happens sometimes when they go crazy in the net. After she calmed down we cut the hooks.

Yeah, That fish does kinda look like Kermit the Frog. It had a strange shaped head but it was a healthy fish.
