OK,

With the show season approaching I'd like to hear what new/improved lures, tackle, etc. will be available and what the prices will be. So you or your co. have something new you'll be introducing, here's your chance to beat your chest.

Please list what show's your stuff will be at and what booth.

I'm not showing anything, but I've got about 200+ Castor blanks waiting to be painted and 100- 10" bodies that I can weight to be anything from top waters to gliders.
Retirement can't come soon enough, so I can be a lure maker.

I'm sure looking forward to the shows this winter. I always enjoy talking muskies with everyone that stops by my booth.

I will have new bait patterns available for the 2005 season along with a line of new musky rods, lake map books (by Fishing the North Country) and hand crafted outerwear (scarfs & hats.) The scarfs & hats feature an embroidered musky applique (that was custom sewn for MRG) sewn onto the front of the hats, and on each of the scarves. Last but not least, for the future musky hunters that will be born in the coming months, I will have baby blankets with the same applique and lettering reading "Future Musky Hunter."

I hope to see all the MuskieFirst folks at the shows!

muskycore....I've been having fun with this one.
It can be a suface/ walkthedog lure. Not as noisy as a Weagle, but it "swishes".
I can weight it so it sits just under the surface and then it gldes back and forth with a nice belly flash running about >2' deep.
Then I can weight them neutrally so they will sink slow and glide with a nice wide glide and belly flash, then hang on the pause just like my Castors.
I just might keep all 100 of them......at least that's what I told my wife before she threw one at me.

GMG,

I will be offering the hats/scarves in four different colors. Black, white, royal blue & grey. $13.50 plus shipping for the hats. I will have them ready to ship on 12-20-04 man. I will have more info up on website this weekend, but in the meantime shoot me an email so I can get your address. I hate waiting too!

Yes, they will be available through my website. They are reall warm too, I have been field testing them for the past week (while I clean debris from the yard.) I think GMG had a better idea though, I should ice fishing soon, that will be the real test!

OK, you opened the door...
Tuffy will be at most of the Muskie Shows this winter with a rethought, redesigned lineup. The new Esox Deep V models will feature a totally new interior, new weight distribution so the boat sits perfectly level at rest, 52" livewell, totally dry sealed locker storage, rod lockers that will hold 14 rods in tubes, organized, and a new rear deck module. There are too many new features to list. The price on the 20' model went down, while the new 17' and 17'6" model are at 2003 pricing right now.

The Esox Magnum is in redesign now, as is the Rampage Magnum. Same new dry storage lockers, and a face lift, too.

Here are a couple examples. The 1700 is in tooling at this time, and will be ready soon.

If I can get the baits made a friend and guide has agreed to offer my baits at the following shows:

Tri Esox Chicago
Milwaukee Musky Expo
Extreme Musky Expo Chicago

These baits are made by myself from wood one at a time and are offered in many color schemes and two styles, the BeerBelly (top three) and Turmoil (pictured at the bottom).

Best Regards and Happy Holidays!

Dropped a grand on christmas, birthdays and an anniversary this month. I can see this sport show season will give me absolutley no financial relief. Looks like I will have to push my retirement from 186 years old to 200.

I'll be at the Guide's Choice Pro Shop Booth at every show except Mn. Muskie Expo (we will be at the Extreme show in MN. however). Anyhow, we will have some custom colors of the new Uptown Dawgs from Muskie Innovations. Also will have a complete display of many manufacturers baits in our exclusive white belly perch pattern and other custom colors. That's all that comes to mind off hand.

Mepps will have the new #5 Marabou at the shows. It came out earlier this year. I had a chance to fish with it all season and it is an awesome spring bait. Same marabou action and colorado blade as the Musky Marabou in a bite size morsel for finnicky spring or cold front fish.

Matt,
Is ERC going to come out with a topwater bait at any point? I seem to remember Dick mentioning something about one.

Mentzer Lures will be at the Pittsburgh Extreme Muskie Expo on Jan 7, 8, & 9 at booth # PA-117.

This is our first year. We will be returning an old favorite and productive lure, the "vamp" to see if there are any fishermen, or women, out there that still like old time bait casting. We will also have a small selection of leaders.

The lures can also be seen on our website for a preview: www.mentzerlures.com.

Hope to see you there.

Jim
