Posts: 20227 Location: oswego, il | I would throw a medium sized white tiger x-glide from H20tackle. The reaon is that where we fish PGA, a glider is a good bait after turnover when we need to slow down a bit and drag meat. As for the exact lure, it is a guarenteed glide so I can work it given most any conditions, even when it's windy and you have a hard time feeling what your glide bait is doing because your bouncing around.

Posts: 600 Location: West Bend, WI | um...... I think if it was one this season, maybe the Wabull?I love the undertaker and this is one big undertaker.Even though I don't have this pattern yet, it would be perch. How can you go wrong with perch? in clear or dirty water. A 7 inch maple Smuttly Dog in golden chub. Maple makes it fast dropping and helps it stay down on the jerk. (Not like some gliders that pop to the surface on the third jerk no matter how deep you allow them to sink). Golden chub because where I fish it is a good color sunny or cloudy. Posts: 4266 | 8" Hughes River Shaker in Golden Sucker. Why? Because they eat it. I'd say one of my own gliders, but that would be self serving Beav

Posts: 291 Location: Mokena, IL | I would throw a 8"shaker in red okebogee (sp?) perch pattern. This has been my hottest fall bait for the last 3 years. I ussually work it very slow about 3 feet under the surface.

Posts: 389 Location: Presque Isle Wisconsin | Hey!! I like all those choices. It depends on lake type and structural elements of course but I absolutely love the X Glide from H2O when working deep structure. For the shallower structure elements The Nitro and the Hughes River Shaker in the 8" size worked with a foot and a half pull followed by a long pause has been deadly for me for several years. I like the medium and largest size X Glides and the large Nitro. The colder the water gets the more time I would give the X Glide. What a unique action that bait has> I threw the medium size X glide last week fishing behind two clients and caught all four of the muskies for the day .Another "sleeper" fall bait over weeds is the 8"enchanter from Hughes river> Has a shake and belly roll action I cant reproduce on any other bait.A killer over submerged vegetation. IF forced to pick one for fall fishing in any type condition it would be the X glide because it can be worked at any depth.

Posts: 149 | Tuff Shads for trolling Small Trueglide Hustler for casting shallow to mid depths (I love this bait). DDD for casting the deep stuff Both of these are easy to work and I can get them to hang in space for a while. The DDD is better at suspending, but I find I can work the Trueglide extremely well. Posts: 440 | If I was throwing it would be a walleye Shallow Invader. Lots of success last fall with it, both deep and shallow. Lots of trigger in the twitching of this bait. IF I was trolling it would be a orange tiger 9" Grandma. Very consistent producer over the last two falls, I don't see a reason this one will be any different.

ToothyCritter Have you really had luck on the Bull Dawg in cold water. I have found they quit working after about 50 degrees. How are you working it? (if you don't mind telling me) SV

Posts: 661 Location: Roscoe IL | muskiemachine, I work the Bulldog in a slew of different ways, in water colder than 50deg I let go all the way to the bottom. Then I will give it a good rip and slowly reel it in about 1/2 way, then I let it drop back to the bottom and sit a few seconds and rip it up again and bring it on in. Usually get the strikes on the 2nd rip! Give it a shot, I was shown this by some very good fishermen and it will produce!! Thank god I will have more than just one lure to throw during Trophy Season, I do love to throw my Deadhead as well. Made by Widowmaker baits in Kentucky, what an awsome bait!! And If i get my Weagle it will get time as well, I beleive in topwater all year long even in icy water temps!! Good Luck! Edited by ToothyCritter 9/30/2004 3:18 PM

Posts: 32890 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Only one lure...hmmm. I guess it would be a Creature, 1/2 ounce jig, black tail. If it was wood, it would be a Wabull or an Undertaker. Wabull because I can make that thing dance, and the purple haze Wabull Mr. Cady sent me has tons of muskie tooth gouges. Undertaker because it's another lure I make dance, and has it's moments where there isn't any better lure. Of course, once I get the Castor thouroughly tested this Fall, THAT might be the One... Then again, I do AWFUL well in the fall on Suicks..

Posts: 184 Location: Rockford Il 61108 | Good Question. I would have to go to my 8" Sucker color Reef Hawg. I have had good hookups with this lure. Even though this lure isnt pretty, it does it job. I like it because I can work it down to the depth I wish, or run it fairly shallow(4-6ft) I added some more red to its nose to give off a bleeding fish type look. Very good bait if you like the wood.

Posts: 1996 Location: Pelican Lake/Three Lakes Chain | Just one......let's see. First inclination would be to go with a Jerko, but after seeing Worrall's Castor shimmy in the water I think I need to get my paws on one of those. Do I have to leave my 10" Suicks and Jakes at home. I can't do just one!! Can't, Can't, Can't!!

Posts: 65 Location: Springfield, IL and Vermilion Bay, ON | It would have to be an 8" Believer straight, in perch or silver. I have jointed's, and Suicks, and Bull Dawgs, and BuckTails. But I will rely on The Believer, consistently, deep or shallow.

Posts: 561 Location: Monee, Illinois | As you all know they call me SS Bob so I would have to say the SS Shad, but if those were not made I would throw a Sledge, like the way it works and can work it slow and rip it if I want. Probally Green/Black color pgaschulz
