tell you what...

With the rumoured entries including names like Petros, Hrbeck, Saric, Heiting, and Linder...

I hope to heck someone I've never heard of wins it. Or me?

Hey the Midge and I might have a chance this isn't a PMTT event!

Wouldn't it be CRAZY if someone who's learned a ton over the years from all the big guys won the thing.Kinda like a final exam. That would be the craziest thing in the history of crazy things. Steve

The hot shots had to learn from someone as well. Matter of fact my partner John said one of the above hot shots used his ice fishing technique on the same lake and bow hunting techniques weeks after he showed him how to do it. My buddy John's techniques were unvieled on his show that season on the same lake!! Ha It's all smoke and mirrors.

Are any of the big names partnering up in the same boat or are they all fishing with less known great fishermen?

As PK said imagine Ballcap and I talking like Mr. Grant...

Shady says:
"Oh my god Bob she tried to bite me!"
Midge Says:
"That's 1 over 50" Bob I'm gonna catch ya"

"GUIDE SERVICE!"

And Matt Thompson lurking in the background naked.... "Where's my Bob?"

LMAO!

This is gonna be fun!

yup will be there! We all put our pants on the same way, one leg at a time. I think any of the teams can win it. I've seen big names do nothing in the P.M.T.T.
Its a big crap shot and knowledge helps but so does lady luck.

I know I put my pants on just like Barry Bonds does, but I couldn't hit a 70 MPH fast ball out, much less a 95 MPH fast ball. Because of the format, I think this one goes to a local team or a team that really knows the water. Luck might get you to Saturday, but it's going to take more then that to win. There has never been this many good sticks on one body of water, at one time. Should be fun.

I do have a question for you guys and gals fishing it. I was talking to a friend who is fishing the tournament and he told me he never got any rules update in the mail. What if someone fishing the tournament goes up and pre-fishes this weekend because he or she did not know about the no pre-fishing rules change? How do you police it? How would you feel about a team who didn't know, but got to pre-fish? Bob Could have a problem.

"It's a reality of life that men are competitive and competitive games draw the most competitive men. That's why they're there--to compete. They know the rules and the objectives when they get in the game. The objective is to win--fairly,squarely, decently,by the rules--but to win....and in truth, I've never known a man worth his salt who in the long run , deep down in his heart, didn't appreciate the grind, the discipline. There is something in good men that really yearns for , needs, discipline and the harsh reality of head to head combat. But I firmly believe that any man's finest hour--his greatest fulfillment to all he holds dear--is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle--VICTORIOUS"---Vince Lombardi

We'll be pre-fishing this weekend.....but it will be in the Cass area.....what's the big deal if other teams fish on the V. I don't think it will give them any more edge then me fishing it a week ago or last year in September.....it is just a DNR deal to try to keep some trafic off of the lake and keep the locals happy too.

Hey guys,
I'm not sure that the "guide thing" is much different than fishing a tournament for money. I've done both and they are all about catching fish.

Remember you are all invitied to stop by my place on Sunday evening, even Cady.

Don't worry about all the Big Names in this tournament, the fish are your only adversary, not the other anglers.

It should be fun for all especially those of us that are on "Big Fish"....Right?
:)

The true maniacs I hear totally diesect an area with buoy markers, then look at it from a distance to get a good visual of the structure, then go back and GPS each buoy or contour of structure and then pound a 30ft area all day/all week until proven area produces.....I'm sorry but I would need some very good drugs to keep me intrested:) I'll take my chances doing milk runs.
You can pre-fish the V on Monday.
Good luck!

The team to beat for this one will definately be Musky Tom (Kid Derringer) and ACE the Guideman. They are the locals that fish the system a bunch and know those out of the way areas that many others simply drive by all day. Look out for team GRUNGE! Best o' luck to you!

I agree! We are hooking up my Procraft to the back of the Grunge brothers ride and hoping they let a few go by so we can take second.

3 days with Tom & Terry on home waters? They gonna be tough to beat. The spot on the spot will be in effect

I don't care if JC and the 12 Apostles are fishing this thing. If you believe you'll loose...you will.
If you believe you'll win, hell, you just might. Good Luck to everyone out there next week. We'll see you there.

If bouy bangin' is all you do, you will lose. The lake has so much former 'hidden' structure I was always amazed on how many
'Die hard run and gunners' with $50,000 grand in boat and electronics would roost right over many of my honey holes just to
get into line at many 'easy' spots. Unfortuneatly, the new Lakemaster map has revealed much to those who thought they knew.
Now, as the old saying goes - they are more dangerous armed with a little bit of knowledge than they were before.

It will be a Granite grind and gun. The team who pounds the most rock at hopefully the right time will move and catch fish.
Gas will be burned, TM batts drained, Glass and Tin gouged and a few props lost. That is the cost - Thin to win - If the
winds blows, the granite WILL exact a toll and reward those who brave the craggy shoals.
Be wary, greed has turned many a man to fool -

This year the fish have been extremely wary, more follows and finicky on what they follow much less bite on, in my ten years of fishing the beast.
Lure selection will need to be vast and finding a triggering lure - vital. Many will spend countless hours pounding the water with
presentations/lures that will be futile.

Home town teams have a decided edge-they know the subtle and brutal weather fish patterns. What areas to spend time on and what ones to hit quick and move on. The Lakes structure has been revealed, it will be not as large of a factor as pure time on the
water in all conditions will be
Then again Lady Luck is a B###H and it could be some clown with a pile of cash, time to burn and He/She thinks it would be a lark.
